Referee

Just out of curiosity, has anyone encountered a situation where the ball actually hit the referee on the head?.

Down 4-0 and no chance of recovery, I thought it would be fun to chase the ref with the ball. I was literally chasing the ref all over the pitch but I think it is impossible to strike the ref with the ball. The only chance of hitting the ref with the ball is via deflection.

i have yet to hit the ref, whether it is possible i do not know. however, i have found that the ref can be a pain and the neck, he gets in the way quite often. when this happens i turn and got the opposite way, next time im playing it i will try and play the ball against him, but i doubt it is possible, should be tho!

Just wondering whether it is at all possible to collide with the ref. It would be fun watching him take a tumble. I am still trying to smash his head with the ball.

Yeah i dont think that he is a solid figure perhaps that should have been dnethough to add realism with the ref getting in the way

the ref does get in the way sometimes on WE8.
i was playing against my mate and the ball was rolled nicely outside the box for a shot and when the player was about to strike it the ref was infront of the player and he struck nothing but the air because the ref was in the way of him and the ball.
a bit annoying but it is realistic and does'nt always happen

If you want to hit the Ref, just play with Robbie Savage. I'm sure everyone who watches Premiership Football knows what i'm on about...

Yes exactly!It happened to me a lot of times.Ball passed through ref as if he was a ghost or an illusion! LOL
