Road to World Cup 2006

With the World Cup round the corner, Konami should consider releasing a Road to World Cup edition. Currently there is just not enough of international teams. Some developers have expanded their international teams but unfortunately the gameplay is just not there to sustain one’s interest. Having played Winning Eleven Liveware, there is really magic in the gameplay. With such fantastic resource, it is really a great waste if the world greatest tournament is not exploited. Consider how much interest or sales rather it can garner if all the countries are represented in this special edition. Not everyone enjoys playing with club teams as much as with international teams. As a bonus, allow other major cups competition to be unlocked, eg. Copa America, Asian Cup, European Cup African Cup etc. At least, this time the competition is well represented.

PS The message has been forwarded to Konami.

That isnt cheap you know.
And besides I think the WC rights are owned by EA :(
Most probably there will be a RTWC 2006, but no way Konami 's going to make it

Doesn't have to be licensed though. I agree that there should be loads more national teams, the game shouldn't just focus on the club sides. PES would be great if it had a proper Copa America and African Nations cup, licensed or not.

theres plenty of international stuff to do in the normal version not to warrant a whole new $100 game to be released.

If KONAMI sell-out and release a World Cup or EURO game like EA Sports do. It would be the beginning of the end for the winning eleven/pro evo series.

I wouldnt say release a different RTWC series. I'd say for the next WE/PES, add more national teams and competitions to the game, and some scenarios like what they had in SNES's ISS Deluxe. Theres that much enough space on a DVD to include as much as they can. I remember one of the WE series had Olympic teams, or even a RTWC but cant remember which one was it. That was a neat addition. But later they didn't bother doing the same.

Konami will be hard at work on the next PES rather than releasing a simple cash in game

Id much rather have them work at PES5 than a simple cash in game too, but maybe they can implant some sort of WC in PES5?
I mean more like EA's WC games(not gameplay-wise!)

i think a konami world cup game would be great but theres no way it will happen.
the only thing theyll be able to do is add more international teams which they prob wont add many, i think konami should improve the competition method and concentrate on having alot more international stadiums that would be cool.

having better international stadiums would make the game feel better because if you look at euro 2004 (last ea sports game i played) their stadiums were amazing and felt real, its just ea sports dont have anything near the gameplay konami do

I know what you're talking about mate, the atmosphere is too damn good, it adds a totally different feeling to the game.

i think its something that konami should work on. because the only reason i kept playing the euro 2004 game was because the stadiums and lighting was just awesome especially when you played as the sun was going down in the night. pes pitches dont feel real and if they improved that with the stadiums people would definetly notice a difference when you play the game, like you said it creates a better atmosphere and stuff

I know what you mean. When you play the Euro Championships in PES4, the group stages are winter matches for some reason, with everyone wearing longsleeves and the crowd in grey. :(

But EA's Euro 2004 captured the atmosphere just right. Konami definately need to work on the overall atmosphere alot more.
