I often try, almost always without success, to sin big name players like Kaka, Adriano etc to my Newcastle side in ML.

I did pry Cristiano Ronaldo away from Man Utd for 30,000 points but other than that I haven't been able to get players who are the very best.

Even when I offer a team the max 60,000 fee plus an valuable player they still never accept, are there any ways around this? My team is popularity S so there's no issues there.

What cups/leagues have you won recently? Also, if you are considered as a rival for either the league title or cup title they are less likely to join you. :) Also, some player are just happy where they are I guess.

Same happpens to me. The signing is sometimes impossible. I'm in 2013 (top player) and have won the legue (2012) cup and champions league.

Ironic. After I post this I get to my latest mid-season transfer window. I put in a maximum 60k bid plus a player on Lionel Messi (aged 24), more out of hope than expectation. Shockingly, I got him first time!

Then I transfer list Alan Smith. Bayern Munich came in for him offering Bastian Schweinsteiger, a player I had long been chasing in exchange! So now I have two players who I thought I'd never get a hold of. No-one can stop my midfield now, Van der Vaart, C. Ronaldo, Messi, Tevez and Schweinsteiger.
