Stick or Pad?

I have always used the Pad on the controller... Until now!

I thought the shooting in this game was flawed until I started to use the Stick!
My shots to goals ratio has increased big time! I was winning games but my shots stats were always around 20 shots on target, 2 or 3 goals scored.
But since the Stick, I still get 20 shots on goal but I'm winning 7 or 8 nil.

So my advice is to use the stick, you have much more control over shots.

But less control over dribbling. Plus its less comfortable and if you start using the sticks, when KONAMI remove it then you have to change back. I use sticks anyway to change tactics. Interesting hypothesis though about the shooting, Pokervriend explained it a while ago but I don't think i'll work with sticks so I'll have to try it out later.

I'm surprised anyone would use the d-pad for anything other than a beat 'em up. I've been using the sticks on PES since its transition to the PS2, it feels more ... well ... ergonomic ... to me at least.

I'll give you a prime example on how much difference the stick makes... when in training, the free kick challenge, I could never knock 4 blocks out until I used the stick.
I suppose it makes sense as the pad only has 8 angles unlike the stick which is obviously 360 degrees.

i know its silly, but i need to know how??? my friend uses stick and i use the pad. This is because i am not at all conformable with stick. Because of this he is running and making 360deg turns very easily and effectively. Can i do something to match this using a pad?

I prefer the D-pad, because i'm used to it and for me it feels beter. But thats different for every player

Funny, like Sminky I use the sticks since day one. I wouldn't even know how the dpad plays to be honest.
