Firstly, thank you for providing such detailed information.

As you are running in Vista, it is likely that upon trying to start the game you'll encounter a message saying your graphics card isn't good enough and forcing you to low settings. Konami didn't test the game in Vista or on 64-bit XP which has caused various problems, almost all of which we've managed to find workarounds for by now. By following the first post here: http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=53764 I fully expect you to be able to overcome the graphics issue and play the game at medium quality if not high. The RAM, though only 1GB, should just about be enough (Vista likes to eat a fair bit of RAM) and the processor shouldn't have any problems.

In relation to the post from Ads, a 7000 isn't meant to be better than a 6800. Though based on the next level of architecture, the 6800 is a top-end card and the 7000 isn't (the last three digits denote the level at which in the specific series the card lies). The 7800 is the natural successor to the 6800 and the higher iterations (800 in this case) are geared more towards games. I've never come across the 7000 before but feel confident enough to say that you can get medium settings out of it.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I've dloaded kitserver and installed it but when i get to running the lodcfg program what resolution do you suggest i input. my screen resolution at the minute is 1280 x 800. And also where do you suggest i place the custom LOD config sliders for maximum performance.

Maybe I can try and help here given that i played PES6 on my laptop.

I didn't have great graphics cards or memory so I reduced the resolution to 800 x 600 I think and then made the window full screen manually, it does compromise on the quality 'in-game' but means there is no annoying jumpy bits when a corner is taken etc.

Good luck mate.

Thankyou for your help. My mate brought his copy pes round, I tried all of the suggestions you you kindly suggested but unfortunately they don't seem to wor on this stupid laptop. Would it be worth my while dloading a cracked copy of xp. Do you think that may solve the problem.

P.S. It plays fine when i have it on the low quality but obviously the graphics lowered dramatically. On medium quality the players have no arms.lol. and it suffers from terrible lag. I havn't evenbothered trying it on high quality.

I'd try it at the lowest possible resolution on medium settings and try to get it running decently before raising the resolution. I don't remember the LOD sliders and don't bother with PES 2008 so have little idea :>. A quick internet search on the subject may help though. Best trying everything on low and then turning up a couple of things at a time....doesn't sound encouraging from your other posts to be honest but still.
