Tactics question

When setting up my tactics, like position switch, for example, there is the bar, (looks like this: -------) and on that bar there are two lines (looks like this: -----/---/), but the bar doesn't go all the way to the second line.

So my question is, if you want the tactic to work properly does the bar have to go all the way to the second line?

Could anybody give me an explanation of what it means?

Certain tactics have different number levels to suit that style of play, ranging from low to high depending on the number.

To adjust this freely, use the standard tactic and you're then able to set them to whichever number you choose.

But if I'm using preset tactics, like counter attack, for example, the slider has a gap between the two bars. Why does it have that gap? And if I don't fill that gap will it mean the tactics isn't set up properly?
