We still have to play our 3rd match.


I thought I'll let you know in advance because we seem to miss eachother everytime. I will be online for our match at THURSDAY after the World Cup match. That will be 22:00h english time. For me thats 23:00h. I will be waiting for you in server 03 and lobby 03.

Please let me know if you are able to be online and finish our match Hermes2.

Ive had some bad news guys - I told you about Hola and his hospital, now an accident has also sidelined the Newcastle manager who can no longer continue. Obviously a speedy recovery is wished to both Khalidd and Hola Name.

Do we just continue the league without them or do we find new managers for these clubs ? Any opinions ?

Lyon are suddenly getting a real reputation for being the whipping boys of this division after a 3 - 1 loss away to Villereal.

The Lyon players looked unprepared and were given a real reality check when Riquelme danced passed his man and slotted home from the edge of the area, leaving Coupet stranded. Lyon marched up the other end only for Juninhio to manage to put over his shot over the bar from 6 yards out. Then the Lyon goalkeeper who is rapidly becoming the player of the league, or if not the best certainly the busiest, pulled off a string of saves to keep the halftime score at 1-0.

Lyon then pushed for the early equaliser and put in a few dangerous crosses but went 2-0 down on the hour when a wonderful counterattack resulted in a near post cross being slotted in by the incoming striker (cant remember who it was- great journalist I would make).

The Lyon coach then changed tactics - defense was thrown in the bin as the team went on all attck mode. This worked great for about 2 minutes as Forlan ran from the half way line untroubled, to skirt round the rushing Coupet and made it 3-0.

A great 35 yard shot to from a Lyon defender to make it 3-1 was no consolation to teh distraught Lyon manager whose team are now firmly rooted at the bottom of the table.

The scoreline of the match suggested that this was a walk over for madrid but it was far from.But teams started the game at a fast pace with nedved coming closes for juve with a dipping free kick which casilles saved at full streach.Madrid were under feirce pressure then releaf came when zambrota foolish fouled robinho on the eage of the box.Beckham shaped up to take the free kick and looked like he was goin for it but instead dinked it onto zidanes head and into the back of the net.1-0 madrid 41min
The second half started with madrid almost makeing it 2-0 when raul broke the defence with an excelliant through ball to ronaldo who rattled the bar with a superb shot.For the next 25 mins juventus contineual pressed madrid for an equaliser and they almost got tn when del piero played the ball to nedved who turned carlos with ease with only the goaly to beat narrowly put it wide.When madrid final got some possesion of the ball robinho ran at the defence beating 3 players then shoting but it hit zammbrota and luckly for robinho landed in his path and knocked it in the open goal.Bad communication between the goaly and his defence.The final whisle blew with the relief of the madrid fans that finaly they had got 3 points in the bag
After the match the madrid manger said"i am very happy with the teams peformance and happy to finaly have 3 points in the bag"The win means a lot to madrid who are thanks to the victory still in with a shout to win the league title

Fantastic write up! I can recall every second of the game after reading this, well done! I think it was Jose Mari that scored from the low cross but Lyon were always looking dangerous once my Villa Real attacks were stopped. I was very wary of the quick counter attacks they put together but luckily enough I second guessed the midfielders last pass quite often and managed to calm the game down a bit.

On the down side, Villa Reals team lives and dies with Riquelme. If he can't play his game from midfield the below average strikers get completely shutdown. Oops! Might have just made a little tactical slip there! DON'T MANMARK RIQUELME!! :shocking:
