It would be nice to modify names to maybe have yourself in the master league. Maybe Castello = Jag87?

You can edit them, even their stats, but only on the PC with the Pegasus editor, I think I posted some screens of the editor in the editing section. Check also the Pegasus Editor thread on issextreme.com.

Thanks Larsson

How does the Pegasus editor work?

I've got an x-port on order, will work with this or is it more like patching, where, I believe, you have to have your PS2 modified?

I think I probably speak for a lot of people when I confess that I'm quite confused by the editing options. There must already be a thread about this, surely!!

I want the most realistic game. I'm not that bothered by 100% accurate kits but definitely want correct player names. What's the best way to go. I understand the options are.

1) Update everything yourself.
(Unfortunately I already have a full time job.)

2) Buy the Datal ultimate update CD
(I've heard it adversely affects the game. I'm not sure exactly what it updates or exactly what problems it causes.)

3. Buy an X-PORT.
(This sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure how powerful it would be. I'm sure I could download option files, which would be great, but could I, for instance, download a single badge and then incorporate it into my existing option file. Could I download completekly new kits e.g. the proper Arsenal with sponsership and everything?)

4. Get my PS2 chipped and 'patch' the game.
(Sounds complicated and dangerous. It does, however, sound like you could change whatever you want to.)

Whichever's best, I'm looking forward to having the the XPort. What do other peope do with theirs?

Anyway, I'll stop asking questions and go back to trying to work out which hole i should be putting this round shape into.

Regards

Sven

Getting your PS2 chipped is not dangerous once you know a trustworthy place to get it done like www.thebarras.co.uk. Good service and good prices there. Playing a patched version of WE7 and PES3 with updated kits, balls, music, coloured goal netting, proper advertising boards (coke, amstel, playstation, ford etc) and so on makes the game look much better.

Once you get an X-Port, you can find a few option files in the appropriate thread in the Editing section which will be just what you're after. I use my X-Port for backing up my option file as well as loads of cool goal replay files. Plus you can use it on any and all PS2 games so you don't have to delete the files if you are low on space.

I changed Valeny to Valey but i think it happened because I changed his name in PES2 then in option file on PES3 i put load PES2 option file and i loaded the names and then i had his name so maybe if you chang there name on PES2 (e.g Castello to Castelloo) and load it or you could change it back and that might work.
