tips for a newbie

Hey, I just bought winning eleven here in canada and am wondering if you have any tips to give a new player. I'm having a tough time at 3 stars level my game seems to always end up in penalties or ties and 2 stars is just too easy. It seems like im finding trouble shooting and attacking. Out of curiousity I downloaded PES4 demo on computer and 3 stars seemed really easy and the game play seemed to differ a bit, is that my imagination or is there a distict difference in gameplay between the two?

PS any idea how to keep a header shot low?

You have to judge & time when to use the shoot button. Pressing the shoot button when the ball is lets say waist height will make the player try a volley. Training is very help full.

Keep passing in your midfield and try through balls and crossing is useful too! Personally I think the PC is harder then the consoles but Im not sure...

Yer and with heading you have to think where you are aiming, for instance if a player is running in towards a cross aiming a header behind him is alwyas gonna go all over the place! Holding R2 you can move your player waiting for the cross so you can move them back a bit etc.

Also when crossing tap :circle: twice. It keeps the ball low across the face of goal and could give you some great diving headers.

Agreed I have scored some great goals like that!

By the way Stevie how do you get the PS2 symbols as emoticons like you just did in you previous post?

Erm, when you go to 'Go Advanced' at the bottom there is a list of emoticons. There's a 'more' button somewhere and it lists all the ones you can use.

:circle: is : cirlce : without spaces. ;)

Pass a lot. Don't be afraid to pass back either. Once you get the hang on the pace of the level move up one. Just keep trying. Once you get used to the level then you start to adapt your own style of play to suit you.

Anyone else changed their button config? I changed mine so it's a bit like Fifa. Circle is shoot-press & Square is cross-slide tackle

Nah but I suppose if you had been a hardcore Fifa fan it might be easier playing like that

ok..way off topic lol... but anyways. Yea I've gotten used to headering I can't press the button too early like Im used to in fifa, it all depends on where the ball is when i press it. Quick question do you guys use d-pad or analog? Oh and I'm thinking of getting a Max Drive maybe, to make it a bit easier to update rosters and kits.
