"Trap Through"

As I dont have a chipped machine there is absolutely no way I can play WE8LW. I have nontheless been reading through members posts describing the game and am wetting my pants over the prospect of getting to play this game at my mates next weekend...

So...

Could someone tell me what the hell the 'trap-through' move is, how you do it, and what use it is in the game. Seen the move mentioned often enough but nobody has actually described what it does.

Secondly, I quote:

He has used this tactic since PES2! I think PES gamers call this type of player a wriggly worm!

This for me is by far the greatest evil of PES4 which must be eliminated from any future WE or PES releases. IS IT STILL IN THE GAME?

I think my major concern wouldnt be playing games it would be your incontinence problem

Seriously though dont follow the ball all the time - ensure that your defenders are where they should be and dont leave men open. Perhaps use the "press" tackle button occasionally to double team on a player. Perhaps also push up with your defence to stop him having the opportunity to get the ball to goal line so he cant cross it.

In PES4, your advice is futile as the dribbling in PES4 is very easy and the defenders place themselves behind the incoming striker as opposed to in front of him. Therefore, providing your opponent knows exactly which area to run into.....a goal everytime.....totally kills off 2player PES4. I was wondering if it is the same old pathetic scenario in WE8Live?

My advise was for PES4 and it works for me

You aint up against my 'Win-Hungry' mates who totally kill the game with there repetitive boring and cynical gameplay. I agree that you can defend these shitty 'worm wiggler' goals. but if your opponent is persistent enough, he is going to get goals. i.e 1 in 3 will go in.

ANYWAY anybody got any info on the 'Trap Through'?

No-one knows what on earth the "trap-through" move is or how to do it. So forget about it.

Dribbling is much harder in WE8:LE as the players turn and dribble slower than in PES4. The game is based mostly in the middle of the pitch rather than end to end like PES4.

Conceding goals is down to your defence and how you play. I do not concede goals like your friend keeps scoring because I intercept the centre pass. Also, marking his wide players and not letting the ball get to them can help out. Also, the R1 lob is much lower so don't try it like you would in PES4.

But as the keepers in WE8:LE are not as invincible on one-on-ones like in PES4, it's likely that your friend may not want to score these cheap goals in any case - so it'll be back to the other goal where his OMF sends the CF through with a nice Triangle pass - but you can build a defence to cope with this too. Good luck and enjoy the game. Remember that turning is slower so think ahead and pass early or you will lose the ball.
