When you run msconfig, click on the Boot tab, click the Advanced Options buttoin, tick the Maximum Memory box and change the value 4096 to 3072. Upon rebooting, you should only have 3GB of RAM available to the OS.

Why are you having problems with Vista x64 and 4 gigs or RAM? That should only be a problem for 32 bit systems.

PacMan, certain programs don't support 4GB of RAM..for some reason. My Sound Blaster XFi card didn't work until I booted up using only 3GB in Vista x64 (via MSConfig), installed the appropriate drivers and fixes and then set it back to 4GB.

can i ask why 3072 and not 3000

Because 3000 isn't 3GB, 3072 is.

Ohhh so it's a problem with the game period, not a problem with the game caused by the OS not supporting the 4 gigs, as sometimes is the case with XP or Vista 32 bits. OK, I got it now.

Assuming mine arrives today, I'll know for certain tonight when I install it on Vista x64 with 4GB RAM. I couldn't use my controller in Vista x64 in the demo but could in XP x32 using 3.25GB so so perhaps the RAM was the issue I failed to resolve.
