Whats better joystick or buttons? Best way to get better at PES 2010? (new player)

Hey guys,

New to the forums. Im trying to get better at PES 2010 and before I practice too much I wanted to hear if ppl liked using a joystick or buttons better on the controller.

I play PES2010 on a PS3.

Also. Are all the tricks doable on both joystick and buttons? Because trying to learn some of the tricks from the manual I couldnt seem to be able to do them.

Also if anyone has any good tips to what I can do to become good as fast as possible, please dont hesitate to share.

Should I just try all the diff tricks in practice mode? Or play lots vs computer or vs friends/online?

Also, why is online so laggy? Is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks again for your patience and time

Have never tried joystick for PES, but I guess generally a controller is the best to play PES with.

Aha, the analog sticks you mean! Well, I play with the buttons, but thats only becuase I have done it since I was like 8 years old... but I can play with the analog sticks too, if I have to. Its not much of a big difference for me. Dont know whats best. I think it more comes down to personal preference and what you are used to

The stick is too inaccurate for my liking. Konami is still favouring buttons as you can tell in the manual and ingame command list it always says dpad. The new tricks are almost impossible to do with the stick and you never really feel in full control. But like 0-0-10 said, just use what you're most comfortable with.

I didn't see this post before I posted mine. Sorry.

I think I prefer Analogue for dribbling but I find it easier to do the tricks with the pad.

With analogue the movement is better. But I find it a little too sharp. I sometimes get less control especially when doing a move or trick. But overall I still play with the Analogue.
