I'm playing on the PS2 and getting very frustrated with this game!
I like the game but i want to love the game but there are things holding me back from doing so. I'm not amazing on it and only play on the regular level or one up from that. The main things doing my nut in are:
1 - The unrealistic amount of goals the opposition scores from corners. I'm probably conceding goals from about 75% of the corners i concede. I know how do head as i win almost all goal kicks but with corners it seems to be a completely different story.
2 - The way the cursor always changes to the wrong person or when it is on the correct player, i.e. nearest the ball, it sometimes just randomly switches to some other player.
3 - The way that through balls don't often seem to be passed into the optimum area and usually cross the path of opposition players making it ridiculously easy for them to intercept. And another thing with through balls, when i change cursor to the receiving player i often can't direct them until they receive the ball which is pointless because i often lose the ball because the player runs in a straight line towards the destination of the pass, again making it ridiculously easy for an opposition player to just cut in and intercept.
4 - Another thing bugging me is the way that my defence often seem to be running all over the place, in particular central defenders. I've tried to switch all tactics towards defending but still often find my full back at the halfway line and the two central defenders criss-crossing each other looking lost.
Is anyone else seeing these problems in the game? I want to love it but these frustrating points are making it more annoying than anything.
Before someone says, "you must think like a footballer", i do! When i was younger i had trials with Manchester City, Liverpool, Tranmere Rover and Crewe Alexandra but a bad ankle break and shin fracture caused me to withdraw my interest from playing football. Therefore, i know how to "think football" but it doesn't seem to make a difference?!?!?!
