I dont care about ML, online quitters, cheaters etc etc.

I want to know how does the actual game play online?

I already have paid for my pre-ordered copy of the DVD but am still very curious to know whether it is just gonna be another crappy lag-fest or not.

Also, what difficulty levels are available online?

In previous years, the difficulty was set to regular which meant that the outfiled AI and the goalies were shocking.

Afaict it's very fluent this year. I have no slowdowns and when other players and my good connection don't like each other it get choppier but not stucking like what you would call lag. It tends to make the game faster in my eyes. I have only once encountered somebody where I had the feeling that the game had substantial stuttering in player movement. But this one time happened in 50 matches and I don't preselect a region to play with. It doesn't show you what region the person comes from who you play against but it shows their ranking now. That's ok because it seems to me that they finally found a way to sort their netcode! If your connection is stable and has enough bandwidth, you can be happy already and look forward!

agree with Buddha, also only had a couple of laggy ish games. but i'm annoyed that connection goes and you get that message from Konami about going under 70% i would never quit a game if i;m losing, ive been thumped 8-1 and still carried on playing. so its annoying losing 'reputation' for that

Looking across the interwebz it seems that online PES 2012, once again, is fucking pish!

Not tried it myself yet....but seeing lots of bad reports.
