To be honest I only ever play ML with PES, i dont bother with exhibition matches unless I wanna dish out a beating to my mates - but ive heard the career mode on Fifa is 1000 times better than pes?

The FIFA career modes for the past three years have been beating PES - but the gameplay is shit in comparisson and that doesn't help, since it takes ages to finish one season in FIFA.
Basically you get sponsors for you team (not displayed on shirt), take part in ALL real life competitions, manage players fitness etc, etc, etc - then ultimately get bored to death when a match actually starts.

one thing i do like that i thinks in fifa this year is the feature that EA carried across from madden, which is where if ur doin a career season and say (in our football terms) u were arsenal and ur next game was liverpool u could either play it against the computer or it'd find someone online who was playin as liverpool to play against. Now i'm not sure if this actually in fifa but i heard a ruomour it was and i definitly know its in madden cos it's EA's new boastin feature they've created which i'd expect they'd put into all they're games nba, nfl, etc.

It is improved, no doubt. But it's still not even half as good as PES. You will have fun for awhile sure, i think every PES fan goes through a "FIFA" phase... but the first time you go back to PES you'll appreciate the game even more and never go back to FIFA.
Go ahead and give it a go, FIFA 07 is a good place to start if you wanna give it a try.
