I haven't picked one yet, as I have never played PES 4. I wanna get the opinions of the general public. I'm planning to import it though. I only played WE: 6 & 7 USA.

I voted for PES4 as in it's unpatched state, WE8 is all in Japanese and therefore hard to enjoy. As for the gameplay, the games are almost completely identical. The graphics are slightly improved in PES4 and a few of the kits updated (i.e Reals and Inters etc). Two fantastic games though.

Only the real, (more experienced) players will say that WE8 is better. Forums like Ewo-Web, SGF, etc vets, gurus say that WE8 is better and I do agree with them. PES4 is a good game almost the same as WE8 but you see that "almost".
WE8 just feels more realistic, just like WE7 did to PES3. The ball feels heavier, the gameplay is slower, whoever thinks PES4 gameplay speed is just like WE8 is wrong. The only advantage PES4 has over WE8 is the language. People that are good with menus shouldn`t need any language problems.

And check this out, Winning Eleven 8 J League AC , can crush PES4. With the gameplay and no slowdown whatsoever WE series are billion times better.
