Why oh why does my team all of a sudden lose the ability to play football....

Might have been asked before, but me and my mate have been playing PES5 on teh PS2 for the last few months... had some great games, got very good at it but have started getting more and more annoyed (to the point of throwing things at the TV) becauase half way through a game, one of our teams will randomly start playing like a pile of p00.....

They'll all of a sudden turn into a bunch of lemons, unable to pass in a straight line, unable to collect a ball, they'll stand and stare as the ball passes inches from their nose, they seem unable to tackle and like to watch as the other player gets a string of goal after goal and be unable to do anything about it....

this happens randomly through the game, one minute its one side suffering, then its the other. its as if the computer decides 'your team is playing too well, time to give you all a big fat handicap...'...

Ridiculous and really really annoying......

I'm guessing its something to do with the Stupid AI, but hoping theres a way of turning it off and letting ME make the decision about where I'm going to point my player, kick the ball or even run......

Any ideas?

Have you checked the condition arrows of each player before a match? If the arrow is blue or white then the player won't perform to the best of his abilities. Instead of me babbling here is a link which explains it all.

Indeed. We're playing with all players abilities set to Full (prefer to play each other with level teams and therefore its all about how good we play, not about the randomness of the game....)

Its just that for some reason the computer seems to decide to give one teams players lead feet.... totally random and varies from game to game even tho we have everything else set dead level....

I've seen this happen too, it's so annoying and there's nothing you can do about it.

Try bringing on fresh players, that usually helps me.
