I cant get PES2009 to work on Windows 7, is there a way?

Have you tried using compatibility mode? Not in Windows 7 right now so can't recall what you have to do - might be a case of right-clicking on the program icon and going to an option such as Troubleshooting.

I've tried compatibility mode, and when i try to diagnose, it says it's not compatible, but according to this thread, it works.

Er...you may have misunderstood one part of my post. "I can't recall what you have to do" meant how to get the compatibility mode options up, not how to get the game running. I can try it later but I'm watching Bologna-Milan at the moment.

Right click > Troubleshooting > This program works on earlier version of Windows > Pick either XP or Vista > Try to start them > Hope it works.

Well Windows 7 is still in Beta so you shouldn't expect it to work. Anyway, what kind of error messages it told you?
