Don't know much about the US version yet but until an option file is released, maybe try loading the WE6:I file which you can get from

I was able to download this converted WE7I(US) option file and it is AWESOME. It originated from the folks at pesfan, just to give props, and was converted to WE7I(US) format using some hex-edit trick that I need to learn. It is derived from the PES3 V6 file they are currently hosting.
The kits are pretty darn impressive, especially considering it is not a patch. Stuttgart and Soton have replaced the fake teams. Rosters are up-to-date, as of last week. Plenty of other additions, including over 200 players added and updated stadia names. Some of the player nationalities are off, and some of the players have no feet (! missing boots in WE7I), but obviously minor points. Gameplay will tell the tale long term, but it looks great.

With all of the editing that has occurred in this option file, it will be very difficult to find some of the players that have been added. I just assumed that once a player was transferred, you would be able to edit that player underneath his new team. But it looks like the edit functionality maintains the original origin of player, regardless of where he is transferred.
Anyway, I am surprised C. Ronaldo was not listed under Sporting, is that not the case? Will check it out tonight.
