X-Port Problem

Bit of a problem - can anyone help?

Received X-port a couple of days ago but cannot get it to load up. I follow the booklet instructions, but there seems to be no .exe file on the disc I put into my PC, just files my computer doesn't recognise. I only recieved 1 disc in the post, so could it be the PS2 disc I'm shoving into my PC? If so do I need 2 discs as I read on other posts?

Any help would be appreciated,

Towns.

There should be 2 disks.
One which says "PAL PS2" which only works in the PS2 and another one which is to install the program to your PC.

But you should be OK to download the PC program from here:

Let us know if this works OK.

Jag, did you download the program too?
If it's not from the link above, please show us where you got yours.

I guess the X-Port PC disk is getting rare these days!
Better take care of it....

it works! but...

Top man! That link works perfectly and the software is now installed on my computer!

However, when I click on 'memory card' i get the message "error linking usb to ps2" where my games saves should be. I followed the instructions in the booklet (i.e. linking up ps2 and pc then turning on both) but when I launch x-port I get that message!

The only thing that may be a problem is that the ps2 is not conected to a TV and I have to guess as to when x-port has finished loading on the console (left it quite a while though!). But would this effect the USB link? Buggered if I know, so any help would (again) go down well!

Cheers,

Towns.

Try this:

Check that the USB wire is connected to both ends properly.
Make sure the PS2 disk is in the PS2.
Check your memory card is in slot 1.
Turn on the PS2 and leave it for about a minute. Don't worry about not connecting it to a TV.
Load the X-Port program on the PC.

Should work now. Good luck.

I am not sure if this will make a difference but its worth a try:
Turn the cable round and connect the cable that was going to your PC to your PS2 and vice versa, also try swapping the individual cables around in the central hub. I am sure when i have got that error message this has helped.
Hope it works for you too

I always use the cable the same way around and I get this error sometimes. Not sure why though, maybe because the PS2 isn't ready yet.

sorted!

Had to reload the driver manually when prompted, and its all working nicely! Incidentally, if I wanted to e-mail replays to PESinsight/PESfan do I need a AR2 dongle or can anything be downloaded?

Ta muchly
