Could someone please help me. Is there any way to get Xbox live without needing to have a credit card? I have bt broadband for my internet but would I need to order another type of broadband package to get Xbox Live?

Anyways you DO need a credit-card, but not to pay, just for the purpose of identification when signing upto xbox live via your xbox. But ive contacted xbox.com for you just now and im just waiting for them to reply!
As for paying, you can pay yearly or monthly, when you buy the xbox live starter pack (£30-40) you recieve xbox live for 1 year. As for how to conect your xbox to your PC and broadband modem try this link, its pretty useful:
http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/live/start/

MattShez said:you can play with most broadbands, the companies are listed somewhere in the link a gave you before. Id say your best bet for a long term gaming experience on xbox live is to sign up to NLT broadband and get all you need including the xbox and xbox live FREE in the package as you said. IU think the only catchi s you have to have it for 2 years or sumthing.
As for the price of Xbox Live, its 40 quid here as you said, but in america its very very cheap, i was talking online to somebody and i heard it costs them something like $40! thats almost £20-25!
