Cut-back goals....discuss

I was playing in an ML cup today and in all of my 3 games i played, i was against ppl will a full or near full classic team and with 3 or more ppl upfront. All three opponents ONLY tryed the cutback, nothing else. I won 1 game, drew 1 game and was drawing the third. I was all over him and then he got a cutback goal against the run of play. I d/c'd straight away as it is no longer fun to play online. I dont care what ppl say about how easy it is to defend against the cut back goal, the point is, in order to enjoy the game, which is all i wanna do, i have to try to cut out this stupid game fault goal and the game should not be about this. All the high ranking players either cheat or use the cut back goal and this makes the game 1 dimensional and boring so i dont care if i defend for the whole game and not conceed. Watching the right and left wings run down the line, turn and then try to pass along the box is boring - simple as.

I really hope this 'teamview' or whatever it is - works in HUMAN vs HUMAN games and not only human vs computer games! If this IS the case, it will benifit me as i attack in a variety of ways and the opposition players will not know how to defend and my players will simply tigght mark the cutback wingers of ACTUALLY POSITION THEMSELVES PROPERLY in the box ready to simple hack, or pass the ball away.

Now that I play online I finally see what all the fuss is about. It really annoys me playing against people who use this tactic.

It's very boring. I need to find more people like myself. I also find it annoying that people always seem to pick the big teams. Where's the variety!

I hate the square ball goals, theyre utter shite goals for people who cant break down your defence and arent creative. When you confront them about it theyll say that its hard work to break down the right or left flank and get space to make the square ball or 'cut back' - Cunts.

Latino; do you use the 360?

No sorry amigo, Playstation 3 owner.

You're lucky, I would just hand your arse on a plate if given the chance.

I'm good

:eek:k:

Given my recent online form, being pretty poor, I would have to say that I would beat you with just a 1-0 scoreline.

I only do Player Matches now, thinking that people experiment and try different teams, formations, players and such; I was wrong.

Inter, Brazil, Chelsea and United are the teams I mainly come up against.

yah, and when you pick a mediocre team, you'd think the guy would have a bit of sense and pick a team of the same ability, but alas, no.

I usualy opt for Spurs, Benfica and teams like that, butit would depend on who the other player picks, Id try to at least give them a game of it.

For those defending the 'cut-back' goal, the AI is defective it should not occur that frequently and players set up their tactics specifically to exploit that defect. It's very poor form and would be considered cheating in most online games.

I am sure that this was noticed by konami and they stated that it would be harder in pes2008 to do cut backs and it will be totally eliminated somthing like that?

but remember use your tactics dude, I have clearly smashed these cut back people .. i tharsh them will slide tackle after slide tackle its the best option and play them on the counter while there players are down and injured, if they wana play cheap so can you , easy solved.

I'm not saying that I can't, though in a laggy game it becomes far more difficult. Defending against the cut-back is rather simple but it doesn't stop it from being a very cheap tactic.

Online games, ranked or player, I wouldnt yse cut backs unless the other person had done it to me first, if I cut back every chance I got Id be undefeated.

I don't mind people using cut backs in games, as it happens in real life.

What I do mind, and I have a friend that used to do this ALL the time...

He'd usually be Arsenal and play 4-3-3, he would play Henry and Wiltord out wide (right in the corner) and would play through balls to them and cut it back to Bergkamp.

Bastard.

Even man marking them and making my full backs super-defensive, the tactic was undefendable.

Me and my mates have a gentleman's agreement not to do it. One of our friends is a cheap bastard who continually did it, so we all agreed to stop playing him. That soon stopped it.
