If its as bad as people are saying, surely they must!

I dont know all the ins and outs but if it aint fixable by a firmware update Konami have really dropped the ball by releasing it!
It should of been delayed and fixed!

Theoretically its fixable by firmware updates. The slowdown comes from the PS3's low memory allocation, and Sony can free up memory overheads via firmware, they can also better utilise the VRAM via firmware. It's T-theoretically- possible, but I don't expect them for one second to do ANYTHING to fix the framerate problems, unless they render the game nearly unplayable (which apparently they do not.).

Well obviously I'm going to have to judge for myself how bad it really is.
Like I've said in another thread, some people say its there but un-noticable and only in replays, some say its on corners but it doesnt hamper the gameplay but as you have probably seen that Pro-G review slates PES because of it.
And it obviously cant be different for each person.
Some people must be being too nice about it or too harsh.

Like I just said in the other topic, Pro-G didn't install the game to the hard drive. The slow down is not that bad if you install it, but terrible if you don't.

One thing I hated about that review is the way winningelevenblog said it was a brilliant fair review... They are so negative, they only ever say that to negative news.

Some have said the slowdown is bad at time but only that review said the game was unplayable because of it.

If it is as bad as that review makes out, there will surely be a firmware update. There's one due anyway, it's been a while.

I dont see how a Sony firmware update will fix it though?
Because surely its bad programming on Konami's part so it needs to be a Konami fix?

Yeh I understand that part.
Sorry didnt make myself clear, I thought you were meaning in the next Sony firmware update which is out soon which has something to do with the new Dual Shock 3 controller.
But I was just thinking I doubt it would be in that update as Konami will not have much time to sort their patch out.

But i don't understand, how does the PS3 have low memory?? I have a 60GB PS3... will it still affect me?

dude its not the 60gb effecting the game slowdown its the internal memory . like in a pc the ram. I am sure sony will release an update for it no problem. pes6 on xbox live had many updates to combat lag issues etc.

maybe a firmware update will come on this weeks PSN update tomorrow? And it will hopefully help for it to be ready for the official release date?
