PS3 controller

Just bought a ps3 and fifa08 but it seems that i can't use the directional buttons to move the players like all pes and fifa old versions. Controls don't bother me but i don't want my analogue sticks to get damaged in a month and i'll end up buying a new controller every now and then. So is there a way so i can play with the directional buttons ? if not how long do you think the controller can take that kind of game before wrecking?

I don't know if it's possible on fifa as the directional buttons are used for the tactics, but with PES you can use either the analogue or d-pad to move the players Play that instead.

well i'll play pes on pc, but fifa on ps3 is real good too. Pes graphics are better (player graphics) but fifa's gameplay is better. I know it might be the opposite of everything ever said before comparing the two games but that's actually how i see them.

I have played PES with the analogue stick since it first arrived on PS2. I have probably had about 5 pads in that time. One per year I'd say will do you fine with average play.

I have also played PES with the sticks since it first arrived, I've taken my PS2 to many a PES event as well and round to mates and Im still on my original 6 year old Dualshock 2.

You all just get too upset when you get beat and throw the controllers around

on fifa 08 you can use the d-pad to play and then you would use the analogue stick for tactics.

Go to the pause menu in the game and select control setup or something similar to that. Then you can change the style of controls form analogue to the d-pad. At least thats how it was on the old FIFA. Try that.

how would you do that? that option was available for the 07 version (current gen) game, maybe it's still there but not on the ps3 version: all you can choose from was 4 presets new, new modified, current and current modified i think.

i'm not worried about me throwing the pads, i'm worried about my friends actually i told them to go buy them some pads if they want to play on my ps3
