In the setting.exe you can select between 4:3 & 16:9.
Since some resolutions (such as 1360x768) were not part of the game, someone decided to patch the setting.exe, so you can find different versions of the file :)

I used both CRT (4:3) and LCD (wide) with different resolutions. All gave me blank screen in full screen mode.

I just tried again working in full screen, and after killing the PES2008.exe that got stuck, I saw an icon in the systray which I believe is part of codec pack I use (I believe it was 'ffdshow audio decoder'). I then remembered there a checkbox in the Settings.exe which is called "Nullify movie playback". After checking it, I ran the game in full screen and it loaded (at least until the menu...)

Please let me know if this works for you too Qas

can you please tell my the files that will changed after applying the official Konami patch 1.10 for PES2008 for PC ?

I mean , What files affected (changed) after applying the patch from Konami ? pes2008.exe ? or others ..

I need to know cause I failed each time I try to apply that patch 1.10..With different type of errors..And I tried every solution I was told but no benefit and the give is bad with slowness and choppy performance..

Can some one please upload the files affected by the Konami patch ? to the site mihd.net for eg. ?? please..

And please don't accuse me of piracy because in Baghdad where I live , we have no legal copies to buy,,I do want to buy the game cause I love it and want to support Konami , but I can't find legal copies here....So can you help ?

hi i did try to do the same by using the nullify button but its still gave me a blank screen and also froze.
guess its just window mode then hope that helped ! :)

I was celebrating too quickly :(
Checking the 'Nullify movie playback' did help loading the game, however, after going through the menus I ran into the same problems. Anyway, I still think it has something to do with playback of media files inside the game in full screen. I used gspot/graphedit to figure out what are the codecs required for the media files of the game. Seems like these are mpeg1 files. I'll try to change the default splitter/decoders to see if there's any change.
Qas, are you using k-lite or any other codec pack? Can you run graphedit on the 64MB files inside the game folder to see which codecs are being used?

sorry for all you guys having major probs, mines running pretty fine, however now and again i'll get this distinctive blur in horizontal line in the middle of the screen. anyone else getting this and does anyone know whats causing it?

Are you talking about screen tearing? If so turn on "wait for v-sync" in the games launcher options. That will solve it.

yeh, i'm gettin something similar now. loads pes, get the little loading pes2008 logo with the circles, then crashes and says pes2008 stopped working. anyone any ideas? was working fine yday morning...

managed to fix my problem. tried running as admin and its now working. also disabled desktop composition for those on vista as helps with performance.

I can't think of any issues which either XP or Vista would have. Have you tried going into My Computer and checking to see if you can access the files on the drive? With autoplay disabled (hold down the left Shift key in XP as soon as the DVD is put in and let go after about five secons), it should simply allow you to navigate the contents and run the installer manually rather than the installation menu.

Hi thanks for replying. I cant try it in a friends pc as they all only have PS3, and the library wouldnt let me put the disk in one of their pc's.
I returned it to Amazon and got the replacement today, this one is just doing the same. The disk just spins, clicks and then nothing- no error message or anything.

Im using Windows XP, I have an Athlon 64 processor, but the last two pes games worked fine on this laptop. The thing is though the laptop doesnt seem to be even getting a chance to read the disk to see if its compatible. The disk goes in the drive and then nothing loads, I can hear it spinning then I hear faint beeps, then it just goes click a few times and thats it :(
But all other disks are fine!
The laptops was just released 2 year ago so I cant see the Drive being non compatible, but I cant see Amazon sending TWO faulty disks.
