Platformers have went down quite a bit last generation or 2. Rayman, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon have went downhill as well as games like Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Psychonauts, Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong etc. Now with Super Mario Galaxy only a week from release and gaining a lot of attention from all the reviews it has been getting, hopefully the genre can come up again as Banjo-Kazooie 3 is also on its way.
