Hello fellow forumites. Many people are complaining about the awful music in this year's PES, so I used my spare time to edit all the music in PES2008.

The choice in music consists mainly of recent chart entries plus a few dance songs from the years passed, and they generally suit the game's flow.

Installation:

Use AFS Explorer 3.7

Download the files and extract them to a working directory.

1) Open AFS Explorer >> File >> Import AFS File


2) Find your cs.img file from the Konami/img folder and open it. (Note: click the "all files" tab from drop down menu as shown)


3) You may get told that the "descriptor files are missing", click "NO" and the image will be loaded.


4) Go to Action >> Import Folder >> And find the cs.img that you downloaded as shown, and load it.


5) You will be warned that the image does not have the right amount of space for some files which are bigger. Click "YES" to create a new image, and name it cs2.img, and save it somewhere on your pc.

The file will be rebuilt.

6) Once rebuilt, the files will be imported and you will get a log screen.


7) Upon completion, click "OK" and then "NO" to the following 2 prompts.


8) The final step is to delete your original cs.img file from the Konami/img folder, and place the cs2.img file in its place, and rename cs2.img to cs.img


I have included an excel file with the name of the songs related to their order position, in relation to the unnamed_xx.adx files for your convenience.

Does this work for the PS2 version?

I know that this has been posted in the PC section but the past few PES games have had the music files located in the same place for both the PC and PS2 versions.

is there anyway to get the name of the songs to appear in the game? i got the songs in no probs. thanx for this by the way great work!

Just tried out the songs, took a while to download but understandable considering how many tracks there is. Nice choice of tracks, and a nice change from the crap music that was on there, CHEERS!!!!!!

You might want to look here for some help on how to import the patch into a ps2 cs.img.

Basically you need WinISO or ISOBusterto copy the game onto your hard drive. WinISO/ISOBuster allows you you look into the game, and extract files or edit them.

Simply import the patch into the cs.img using afsexplorer as usual, and then recreate the PES2008 ISO, and burn it to CD again. Job done.

I've read thorugh that guide and other PES 2008 music editing guides.

See the problem is that there is no cs.img file in the PS2 version of PES 2008 - that's the problem. If there is no cs.img file in the first place, then it can't be patched with a new file because there is no file in the first place to patch.

I've been trying to find out which AFS file stores the Menu Music tracks in the PS2 version of PES 2008. Because it looks like each track plays back randomly from several different files a lot like how the radio stations worked in GTA: San Andreas. And that game needed it's own program to decode and rip the tracks. I believe that the PS2 version of PES 2008 is using the same file allocation and playback technique.

I suspect that it needs its own program to locate and decode the Menu tracks. But if you know something that I don't, then I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me locate the tracks in the PS2 version of PES 2008.
