I can't even get them trough the stupid wall ... it hits the wall everytime .. and if you use more power it goes way over the goal .. free kick system is so lame in PES 08

I can get them over the wall but I can't seem to curl the ball a lot. When I mean a lot it only curls a tiny bit. However, I have scored a free kick which left the goal-keeper glued to the spot. :D

Yeah thats the point , it barely curls at all , this is really a bad thing they did , because gameplay in this game is superb.

It curls. I only started scoring freekicks yesterday. So far I can only score them in the range of 17-25m.

17-23m: I hold down to lessen the power and make sure your power doesn't exceed the half way mark on the power metre. Most times when I get it on the mark it goes in or the keeper saves. But the most important thing is holding down and of course the curl. That's what changed for me. As soon as I started doing this, my freekicks are almost guaranteed goals.
Hold down as the power metre is being filled and then when you have your power set and the player kicks the ball, hold the direction in which you want the ball to curl

23m+ : I don't hold either up or down. Holding up will send it over or blast it into the wall. Holding down is just too weak. Keeper will always get it.

Note: For more accuracy, the power must not exceed the half way mark of the power bar. Try as much as you can to get it spot on the mark. Train, train, train.

Thats good tips and ive scored few goals like 2 goals from 10 kicks , but the rest always goes into the wall , that wall is so stupid the ball doesnt go high enough to pass it so either your lucky and get the ball betwen the head or it bumps into the wall mostly.

These techniques work for me most of the time...

Edge of penalty area = hold down (and curl if you wish) and press the long pass button to full power and sometimes it glides under the wall and more often than not leaves the keeper glued.
or
hold up and lightly tap long pass into the keeper's oposite corner (have yet to try in PES2008)
17m to 23m = hold down and curl if you want to
23m to 26m = neither up or down + curl
27m to 35m = hold up + curl
("27m to 30m" for regular players and "27m to 35m" for top freekick players)
35+m = don't bother or hope for a major mistake by keeper

Just smack them past the wall and aim left/right of the keeper. Dont use to much power but hold Y/triangle when doing it. Use someone like Lampard, Adriano, Gerrard, Alex, etc.

You'll literally just punt it through any players etc and past the keeper before he can react.

Yeah, you can kick it that way to the keeper's corner when the FK is <20 metres. Once you get a hang on the amount of power you have to give it, the keeper just can't get it. And no wall to stop it!
