A great formula for a great team is:

These are the important attributes for each position
Goalkeepers: height 190+
Centre backs: height 190+
Side backs: speed 85+
Wingers: speed 85+, body balance 80+, the smaller the players are the better
Centre midfield: i think this is the most important position for the winning eleven, body balance 85+, height 185+, passing ability 80+
Strikers: body balance 90+, height 190+, shooting ability etc are a given ability

If you are starting with a low/mediocre team, ALWAYS build a team from the back (defence) then gradually move forward (MF, ST, and so on) never buy a expensive or over rated GK, a good GK is reflected by a good back four in front of him. So, better buy a strong CB (Dawson) and DMF to build a strong defense. DMF also must have a proper height, to take on high balls and goal kicks (Huddlestone, Mathieu, Richards). Strikers must also shake off big, tall defenders (Ibrahimovic)

Its months since i've been on here.
I'm now in my fourth season on top player but, because i absoloutly refuse to cheat, i have still not won the 3 major competitions in one season. One reason for this is that i never play a single first team player in the D1 cup.
i also dislike having players over the age of 30 in my starting line up and like quick, skilful players.

This team is amazing, a lot better than it might look, ferdinand, denilson and particularly agbonlahor have developed into the best players in their position on the game. i have had, and got rid of, some of the best players in the world.

I have some very good squad players and some up and coming youngsters whose names i cant remember.

Seb Larson is a great squad player for all teams.

I have the top golascorer and assis lwader of all time (agbonlahor both) and the leading in each of these in all competitions in my current season.

Started a new ML with the default squad. I've almost made it through the first season.

So far, I have Akinfeev, Micah Richards, Martin Skrtel (Sirikael), Diouf, and Ben Sahar.

Skrtel is maybe the single best buy first season (he didn't get too much play in my 'Pool ML, give the quality of the team and some other players I had), as he is miles beyond the default defenders in terms of stats, is very cheap (even cheaper than some of the defaults), and has great height. He develops up to about 83, as well, so he'll still be useful down the road.

Sahar will become a beast in the future. Hits about 92 on the curve, and can be had for very little.

Update!

I just figured out that the M. Richards I have *isn't* Micah Richards. I just went through summer negotiations, and saw "Micah Richards" pop up at Man City when I searched for defenders. When I looked at my "M. Richards", his designated position is CMF. He peaks at about 89 and looks an awful lot like Micah Richards, but, as it turns out, he's MATTHEW Richards from Derby County! :shocking:

Explains why he was so cheap (salary is about a third of Micah's)! Excellent player nonetheless, and even though his purchase was a "mistake", I feel a little proud that I "discovered" a really cheap player most people would pass over. :^D

I am 6'7", though, which is proving useful very quickly.) :blush:

As you can see, I still have a few of the default players that need to be moved out and replaced, but they're not as useless when mixed in with the better players I've picked up. I'm keeping at least Ettori and Gutierrez for a while, though.

I haven't noticed any difference, but I usually pick someone with high Mentality. I have Palmieri as captain, and he has a about 95 for Mentality.

I often pick a player with high teamwork. A leader if you will.

Yeah, teamwork is meant to be the thing to judge a player's leadership, but when I read what the attribute represents, I think it says players with high teamwork will play more accurate passes to the other players....or was that Playmaking?

I went the whole season with the Original West Ham Team, after reaching a Team ranking of B, and finishing 2nd in the League(Damn Liverpool!), i decided it was time to strengthen my team so i brought in Sagna and Walcott. Then i Took out Boa Morte and sold him to Monaco and played Walcott on the Left, which proved to be a good thing. after the second season i finally won the League, by a single point. I then, at the end of the third season decided McCartney was playing shite, so i put in a Trade, and points for A.Cole and then for Huguain. And now halfway through the fourth season my team is just how i like...I have sold...C.Cole, Mullins, Noble, and Collins,and am in Negotiations with Nani, Ben Arfa(sp) and Pique

I knocked out my whole damn first D1 season yesterday. Didn't have anything at all to do. So, I'm already in negotiations AGAIN. Update later tonight. 8^|
