I've just played my first online games on PES2008 on the PS2 - I haven't played online for about 18 months for various reasons, since about when PES6 came out.

Two to two and a half years ago I used to play PES5 Online on the PS2 and had no or few problems with it. The half that you were hosting ran perfectly and the half the opposition hosted ran with usually very little lag, provided their arrows were green "a good connection". Generally very good - full marks to PES5 Online

My games just now on PES2008 were appalling in comparison, both halves were laggy as hell and the ball was springing up everywhere! Screen jerky and I felt seasick after just 2 games. After equalising to make it 1-1 my opponent kicked off, the screen went still and next thing I know the ball is in the back of my net for 2-1! Unbeliivably frustrating!

Have they changed the method of hosting since the days of PES5, it seems such a backwards step? My internet connection hasn't changed at all - 4MB which used to be 3 Star Green on PES5.

Has anyone else had these problems at all? How does PES2008 Online on the PS3 compare (getting a PS3 soon).

well my Internet connection is pretty basic. Whenever i go online for PES i just shut down my pc. And make sure that the only connection from my router is going straight to my ps3. Make sure when you play online, you search for a match room, because you can see the connection you'll be playing against before hand. If you play with somebody with 3 bars, the games can be generally quiet good, of course you get the occasional bits of lag, but there hardly noticeable.

hi guys im trying to get online with my PS2 but can't register my user name when i go to the user registration area - it comes up with a communication area. Its not my connection because i can go online with all the rest of my ps2 games. I searched various forums for this same problem and it seems to come up alot - it just requires someone to register with a new name and password for me, I can then get into the lobby area.

So basically im asking you ps2 guys to take 5 mins and do this for me please and send me a message on this forum with the user name and password or email me - i will be really greatfull and i hope to see you in the lobby so we can have a game. So please anyone?
