formation that works surprisingly well

just a short suggestion, as i found this formation work surprisingly well against all sorts of opponents.

team strategy on c/c, and put it on auto-attack. when the opponent has the ball, put full defense to form 2 lines of 4, which is near impossible to break down. once you get the ball it will change to full attack, and you can combine your way past anything, impossible to mark due to the strikers and the midfield being very mobile. should you run into 11 defenders, use the backs to lob it into the box.

arsenal, top player, 20 matches played, 0 goals conceded, 46 scored, miles ahead of the #2. just don't do anything stupid on the buildup, and try to alternate which cm goes forward to keep things unpredictable.

Very interesting. Please draw some arows and defensive levels cos i have the same idea about how to play with Arsenal ...
Maybe some line up with default players?

I feel well boring with my completely normal 4-4-2.
GK, DR, DL, DC, DC, MR, ML, DMC, MC, CF, CF.

I occasionally change to a formation very similar to Barcalona's 4-3-3 (with teams who have strikers who can play like this, e.g. Ronaldinho/Eto'o/Henry, Young/Carew/Agbonlahor or C Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez) or a 4-2-3-1 like Man City's in the game and Liverpool's in reality. But that's generally when I am as the underdog, which is rare.

This is the formation I used thoroughly throughout PES5 and PES6:

But on PES2008 they exploit the combined facts of no full backs with the attackingness of my wingers (was C Ronaldo and Shaw on PES6).

haven't touched the arrows, nor defensive levels.

you can change hleb or van persie with adebayor if the opponent has dug in to give you more aerial power. i put fabregas and rosický on the sides to make them easier to find when countering, as they're the fastest of those midfielders.

Athletico Madrid
Arsenal
Chelsea
Everton
Inter
Liverpool
Real Madrid
Valenica

Just experiment with different teams to find the best formation! ;)

Nice find, works online! even vs 433 barca players or 4striker formations this works well.. moved my rating from 500 to 600 and going up great tactic. Do set this formation simply select 4-4-2 C6 and change CF to SS and set team strategy C/C

Few tips:
Works better with chelsea :p
using
Attack: Drogba - Shevchenko
midfield: essien - lampard - ballack - w philly or jcole
Defense: Acole - Terry - Alex - Paulo Fer


When they will play wide field mostly barca players often pass to their wingers and try to cheese trough the defense just using midfielders and try to avoid selecting your CB/SB for pressure.

Use alot of 1-2 passes using L2+pass it will scare opponents and 1 man will always run free for a trough pass.

When on counter run to midfield and wide trough pass to your striker then use R2 to hold the ball and easily dribble pass their last defender.

PES cannot be more easier using this formation ;)

Use manual player select and make sure you ONLY select 1 of your strikers to put pressure on the opponent ball in that way your CM's and defense will automatically defend 2 lines of 4.

There also might be some magic tactically option out there but this way works best.

I've started using it as Arsenal, and making it the formation for my master team, really quite enjoyable, can be hard to really threaten at times though. Always getting 60plus percent possesion but can be a little superficial, no real penetration. Beautiful when it does come off though. I'm gonna stick with it I think.

Reminded me off the default Real Madrid formation from a few Pro Evos back. 4 CMF in a sort of parallelogram.
