I was just about to mention the transfer window lol... I think they need to revamp the Master League completely myself... A proper £ system ( € for european games and $ for America).. better layout, More transfers and better deals, 20 teams instead of 16, injuries that occur in international matches (never had an injury of any of my players when they " fail to represent "... basically revamp it all...

I think also that they should introduce the " cutscenes " that they made in PESM (Pro evo manager)

Being able to interact with your players is key. Knowing about how they feel about up and coming matches. Match fitness. Team Morale. Its all important to the game and i think if they introduced a system like this then PES will reign supreme forever!

It is 20? Although I can only speak for the PS3 version, is it less on others?

And yeah I agree about everything being re-vamped.

i think that in Master League has to be 2.divisions in all leagues not only in that where are you playing!! Goalkeepers need to have better skills...and of course COMMENTARY NEED to be different not only other commentators but commentary style has to be different!!!

PES 2009 have to be difficullt!!!

And of course it will be nice that when you have GAME OVER or SEASON END you can recieve offers from other team to be a coach of that team ! and then in the season start Club president gives you a season target!!

Sorry for my bad english!

Nobody has actually mentioned the rubbish gameplay! players have no weight to them, there are very little animations for tackles, you have no control over passes, the cpu are stupid, and the game is far too easy. The weather needs to affect the game and the crowds need give the game atmosphere!

I want the game to look like i am watching a real game, the occasional lunging tackle, missed fouls from refs, ronaldo's quick feet not just lame stepovers, defenders have weight and strength to them and better shot techniques!

I babbling cos theres so much gameplay-wise that needs changing before all the editing etc is fixed. i hate that i can run down the pitch on top player with my defender and score, its far to easy. i want teams to play to their stregths, not wigan play 4-3-3 agains united in the league, they should be playing 4-5-1 on a crap pitch that i cant pass the ball around on or dribble on well! i thought pes on ps3 would mean not buying a game until the next one came out. . instead its gathered dust and never gets played!

If pes dont hurry up and fix all that they need to fifa will definately catch up, after 5 years of trying to copy pes its slowly getting there. . . . id hate to see the day!!!!

oh and celebrations are the worst. . .and where is the different types of goals and nets? just soooo basic, next year needs to be a big improvement!

I think improving the gameplay further, Konami really need to look at the finer details. For instance, when will they realize that the players they created are not wearing any underwear. See for yourself. When a player bents down to place the ball at the corner, there is absolutelty no outline of an underwear. Do you think it is possible to run that fast without an underwear?

I know it has been mentioned briefly, but in fear of sounding arrogant, I find the game very, very easy. Even on 'Top Player' difficulty setting, against the hardest teams with a far weaker side; it's a joke how simple it is. They need to make it much tougher, I would love it if it was very difficult to break down a defence.

Also, I usually play 30 minute games with a friend of mine - the score at the end of the match is quite often ridiculous - way too many goals are scored. Defences need to be more realistic, they rarely defend deep enough. Players such as Cristiano Ronaldo can break through the full back's zone with such ease, cut to the by-line and either score themselves or set up a teammate with such ease that the game itself soon becomes very tedious.

Furthermore, in light of this previous point, there are too many 'formulas' in breaking down a defence and scoring a goal. I thought that the new and improved 'AI' system was meant to learn from it's mistakes. Did anyone find this so? Personally, I found the system very poor, I could still score the same goal countless times. Konami needs to recognize that its loyal fans deserve a better and more accomplished experience fit for the 'beautiful game' and not the weak imitation that was released last year.

Indeed, I understand that the licensing issues make it very difficult for The Barclays England League and all the other official names to be included in the game, this doesn't concern me and Konami should invest as much money in drastically improving what it was that made us all fall in love with Pro in the first place - the gameplay. Frankly, last year was not good enough.

The single player does get boring after a while. Its just the Ai is more predictable than a human player.
As for scoring the same goals. How about scoring different type goals?
I find more satisfaction scoring long range shots or volleys and diving headers.

tbh on top player it can be quite hard, obviously if you run down the wing with one player and cut it back its always gonna be easy. bt if you take long range shots and start passing around then you'll see the AI start to learn what you do and learn how to defend it. personaly id rather score a 30 yard screamer winning 1-0 than score a dozen cut backs in the box.
i think konami are getting there, but it doesnt mean im happy with this years edition. there is steal a ton of work to do and hopefuly it will be finished by 2009, if not then pes is never gonna be finished properly.

What would you like to see in Pro Evo 2009?

Apart from the obvious of better online play. Id like to see:

A goal celebration where you press a certain button to get the player to take his shirt of and celebrate and then you get booked. And a celebration that lets you jump in the crowd and also gets you booked. More goal celebrations running up to the bench the manager etc.

More international teams.

Have 4 commentators and rotate them around. Keep John Champion, Jonathan Pearce, John Motson, simon Brotherton maybe.

Have the managers on there and be able to edit them.

Get rid of that dodgy penalty camera angle. Make penalties better have some keepers putting there hands out stretched like Van der Sar. Have the cheeky chip penalty.

Put the quick freekick like it was on Pro Evo 6.

Put the situation where if a player went down injured you knew by an icon on the screen and could kick the ball out if you wished to, then the opposition throw the ball back. It was like that on Pro Evo 6.

National anthems and teams lining up for them.

Each teams starting line ups and formations before game with commentary.

Better and more crowd chats and noise.

2vs2 online, and offline.

More realistic keepers when you play the ball to them at their feet, you can just click and hold the long pass button, and he perfectly excecutes a long kick. Not every keeper is as good at kicking.

Certain players rolling around, play acting when fouled.

Better play on system.

No wall when there are freekicks from 40-50 meters....you never see that in real football.

Finetuning running with ball, they run too fast now. Only certain players should be able to do this.

What does everybody else think???

I don't find what you said as arrogant, not at all.. It's the plain truth, PES 2008 is too simple, too easy, too boring, a ridiculous effort from Konami. I can basically score any goal with Ronaldo.. And yes, the defense is laughable as when we are in a defensive situation (without possession of the ball) we are left as mere spectators--we can see what the opponent is going to do, we can easily predict it, but we -as defenders- cannot stop gifted opponents such as Cristiano Ronaldo.

The disadvantages between defenders and attackers is ridiculous, defenders are just not equipped to stop attackers.. and that makes a boring game as 50% of the time we are left defending. Bottom Line is that if Defending is made more realistic, the game will be much better because real-life defending isn't boring--you are always trying to predict your opponent, reading the game, and pulling the right move at the right time--that is definitely NOT boring.

The ONLY Football games I have played that actually had decent defending were PES5 and PES6. Simple controls, a very limited set of Defensive Skills -but- it worked effectively as I could stop any player for most of the time. PES6 gave me the feeling that I was properly equipped to defend against gifted opponents. On the other hand, PES 2008 gives me the feeling of being a mere spectator watching what the opponent is going to do next.

I personally think PES6 had a very enjoyable defensive play, it felt like defending, it gave me plenty of options, positioning was decent for most of the time, I had to time things properly and the responsiveness was spot on. Along with the feeling that scoring goals had, and the passing and movement of the game -defending and defensive play- was one of the MAIN things that made PES6 so addicting. I could actually defend for the whole 90 minutes and STILL have fun playing it.

PES 2009?? Defenders should have a LOT more defensive skills/stats, and more defensive controls should be introduced. Bottom Line is that Konami HAVES to re-invent their OLD GEN SYSTEM of "Stats and Special Abilities".

I still cannot believe that Konami screwed up the gameplay of the game--that's what made PES in the first place.

i got to season 2033 on pes 6 and it was by far my favourite game of all time follwed by GUN and COD4. you are so right about the defending, i just completely forgot that defending was so good.

1 other thing is memorial match. me and my m8 played 150 odd matches and i won 108 of them and it was so fun because we'd by players in the master league to play eachother with and that is what i most miked.

also shooting. on pes 6 shooting was quality. the amount of long rangers in excess of 50 yards was funny. i think we should give pes 6 more credit.

Personally i am a defender. i was a defender for my saturday league team and with m8s when playing singles i always defend and its my stregnth (maybe because i support liverpool) but if you could actually put up a strong line of defence it would be amazing. for emample on pes 2008 if you cant attack your oppenent then your screwed cos u most certainly cant defend against them.

i am not joking with this comment-- if they dont bring back pes shop i might actually throw myself in the way of a 18 wheeler. on pes 6 i had 18 players who all had stats in excess of 97+ no joke. most of them i bought from the shop and im sorry shingo but i dont want to $$ucking be bulgeria in the euros or whatever so i can unlock players which should be available from the start and that is what i hate most.
