Pes 6 and 2008 are common. They both rely on pace mostly. (2008 relys more though). Pes 5 had the best balance between attack and defense. I want a tweaked version of Pes 5 with much better graphics, new animations and better controls.

Maybe they are not saying anything because they don't have anything. This is what Konami has done to me now. I'm so dissapointed with the last few games that I'm actually rooting for FIFA this time.

I haven't even played FIFA since FIFA 2003 but I'm more exited about what EA has to offer this time than getting my hopes up just to be spit and slapped in the face by Konami.

You do realise you are literally basing your argument on nothing right? C'mon, the games 3 months away from release, if it was the end of August then I'd understand.

Dont agree with you on this, I think once you take your finger off the sprint button you can actually control the game quite well, what it fails to do is restrict how long the sprint button can be used, allowing people to play like headless chickens, refine how the stamina gage works and all will be resolved.

Dude, how can you say that!! PES08 is a complete failure, it is bad, it needs a complete overhaul. I actually tried to like it -and- still couldn't find anything worthwhile about that game.

And no, it's not all about "refining the Stamina" -the- game; feels dead and lacks feeling in every aspect, the movements are poor, players move ungracefully, the Stats and Special Abilities cannot even manage to cover some Basic Abilities properly, the Controls are the same we've been using for over 5 YEARS now, etc, etc, etc..

In short, the game is; arcadish, ridiculously fast (everything depends on PACE), unrealistic, predictable -and- BORING.

PES08 was actually a step backwards.. Konami should sort it out.

Yeah I guess so.. I mean, after playing PES6 for awhile I have noticed that the game is full of AI flaws and poor off-the-ball movement -and- as consequence PACE becomes something very important.

In order to compensate for the poor positioning -you- need to make excessive runs in all situations; Defending, Attacking, etc, etc.. That's the main thing that has become boring to me, I'm just bored of all the excessive (unrealistic) running I have to do in PES6 -and- with the usual "AI cheating" it becomes even more annoying.

I'm not trying to say that it is a boring game, or a bad game. I'm just saying that Maybe by 2004 the game was New and exciting -but- after 5 years of the same game, it's time for Konami to move on and improve.

PES08?? I think PES08 was actually a step-back.. Why?? Because PES08; haves the same exact set of Stats and Special Abilities we had back in PES4, Haves the same Controls, haves the same AI cheating as before, is ridiculously fast, is even more Unrealistic than PES6 -because- PES08 haves even more flaws than the PS2 versions of PES.

I fail to understand how some people say that PES08 "just needs a tweak here and there" or "just needs to sort out the Online Play".

PES2008 was "Bad", it wasn't awful there was just some bugs. If you take PES5, the only thing that annoyed me on that was the fouls if you just ran up to a player and touched him, you get penilized. They improve the fouls in PES6, and alowed the game to flow better

I then expected PES2008 to be better than PES6 because well its "Next-Gen" however they didn't improve. Its a good game to play. FIFA08 on the other hand is a really good game. But PES2 & 3 beats them both, i've been addicted to PES2 & 3.

Those were the days when KONAMI where at their prime. The best Years where 2002, 2003 for Football. COME ON KONAMI you have proved on "Last-Gen" that you have the ability to make a brilliant football game. Lets just go back to basics with a touch of extra spice. I really don't want to go over to FIFA this year, because i have been a PES fan ever since i can remember, and it would disapoint me to have to play & enjoy FIFA.

Why do people keep comparing FIFA with PES. Again, FIFA was crap from the beginning only the last to FIF'as have had major improvements.

The thing is there is something going on between KONAMI and Sebass. Seabass wanted to delay the game but KONAMi wanted to release it. That means they are not on the same line. Seabass just needs to expands his team and KONAMI don't want to spend any money. KONAMI should listen to Seabass and not get involved every time they wanna make some money.

The team has to grow and KONAMI needs to grow up.

Agree, I somehow couldnt accept the fact that the father of PES series is sooo unequipped with innovations for the last couple of years. And as a game developer, who doesnt want a bigger team? It started to sound like Konami had something to do with the release date as they need annual income. If its true, I hope Konami realize that this is destroying their franchise.

Then you just proved my point, not that I even made one. If you can read what I say then you should know that I'm simply saying that I'm not going to anticipate anything or get exited because the last few years I've been dissappointed by what Konami ultimately releases.

Like most people here, I'm not expecting anything until I actually see something.

No, but it would be a great idea, takes allot of stress away

Yeah, more members means more research and more modules will be done for the same amount of time as previous series need. I hope he gets more members to develop PES. It needs serious improvements for next-gen title.

considering the amount of formats that pes is now on I should imagine so, but for the same reason it probably wont make any real difference.

That was the reason he stated. Seabass said in an interview that pes had to come out on different platforms with the same team he still has when he was making iss on the snes.

So the the team is still the same.

I am sure that he meant the core of his team is the same (designers); or do you suppose that it is the same people writing code for all formats? it will of got bigger but equally dispersed, but obviously do not know for sure but logic would indicate as such.

When i read the interview I have the feeling he is saying that with all these platforms out there, our team is too small for me to focus on next gen. That's what i am thinking, what he actually meant. i see no other reason to just accept that he couldn't get everything out of pes 2008.
