Fifa 09 vs Pro Evo 2009

PES had one bad year and now everyone loves FIFA. Then buy FIFA next year and leave PES behind. I for sure will buy both and there is one thing i know they both run on the same engine they have used in earlier PES and FIFA and PES has always won win their engine and gameplay and it will be this year. until they both don't start making a new engine for a new football game then the only thing we will see is improvements but not major gameplay differences and that's a fact.

Erm, no read it properly mate. The 4 seasons is for the Be A Pro mode which includes the world cup. The normal career mode spans around 15 seasons. Get your facts right first eh lads.

Fully agree sire, all FIFA's done is kept the same awkward passing and strange shooting, and put a load of right analogue stick bollocks on the top of it. Worst thing they ever did was when you pressed something like L2, and it gave you an option of three people to pass to - hardly useful in a fast paced football game.

2 years PES6 was a let down in my opinion aswell as PES2008.

Fifa was by no means better than PES 2008 but UEFA Euro was really close and even manage to beat the problematic PES 2008 effort in some cases. The thing is that for us, players and not fan-boys, it's irrelevant who wins but it's very rellevant who will deliver the closest football simulation with the best playability and options. Yes I know, its...Pro Evo FIFA 2012 but, since that's impossible I suppose we will have to let Konami and EA prove themselves to us and not we, to prove our loyalty to one or another multinational software firm. That is if we don't own EA or Konami or have personal reasons to favor one or another. Let them continue their contest guys! So far it proves constructive since FIFA's are marginally improved and I really hope Seabass and Konami learned their bitter lesson from the disastrous(in my opinion) PES 2008...

I don't know if you've ever noticed it -but- FIFA never looks as good as their "screen-shots" suggest. FIFA's gameplay graphics aren't very good in FIFA08 (even though they showed some impressive screen-shots).

Don't be fooled by their touched up pics, completely irrelevant to the gameplay.

Worst thing they ever did was when you pressed something like L2, and it gave you an option of three people to pass to - hardly useful in a fast paced football game.

That's just like their Dribbling Tricks, you have to press and hold the L2 Button -and- then and only then, can you do some Dribbling Tricks via the R3 Button (Right Analog Stick).

It is hardly useful in a Football Match.. since when is Dribbling something you plan that much?? Dribbling is all about simplicity and intuition. Having to press and hold the L2 Button -only- to then start using the R3 Button takes far too LONG -It- takes the element of surprise right out of it, and it becomes Predictable and BORING.

And it becomes Boring simply because -although- you can easily predict what the opponent is going to do next, although you KNOW exactly which Dribbling Trick the opponent will try on you -you- cannot prevent it from happening.

If you have mastered the Right Analog Stick (R3) -then- no one will stop you. Might sound fun from a certain perspective -but- from a serious Football fan's perspective it is just plain predictable, unrealistic, and boring -it- feels like an RPG Football game.

Leo Messi, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruijff -WHEN- have you ever seen this players doing the flashy-but-ineffective dribbling tricks we consistently see in FIFA?? FIFA is so full of Fantasy that it isn't even Fun to Play.

Well yes you're right. When I saw the screenshots of Fifa 08 I thought it looked very good. Then I played it (in HD) at a gamestore and the graphics weren't that good.

EA is like SONY, they show off and 2 years later they say no we are sorry we canceled it. They always show us amazing screens and movies but when you play it you wanna throw it out of the window, like I did with FIFA 03

And by the way, Fifa better graphics?????, look at the faces, awful, look at eh bodies, everybody has the same body, no shoulders, and when you are playing, you can not tell anyone apart.

On the other hand, PES, the faces, look like real people, the players all have their real life appearance, when you are playing, you can tell who has the ball without looking at the name.

For me, Fifa is so full of shi..........

Very well said......... Whe I first bought winning eleven 6 for ps2 I was very pleased and since than it's been all bout winning Eleven or PES as it is now called!

PES on PS2 is a much better game than any FIFA version -however- PES on PS2 haves crappy graphics, that's a FACT.. FIFA had better graphics in the PS2.

Anyways, I agree that PES08 haves better graphics than FIFA08 -or- at least better looking players -as- the players on FIFA08 look like zombies. And yet again, FIFA never looks that good during gameplay, all those screenshots are just touched-up (photoshop) pics to lure casual gamers.

Bottom Line?? The graphics are completely irrelevant THIS time around -and- the Gameplay should be decisive.
