FIFA's graphics have vastly improved since arriving on next-gen, but that is to be expected. I think Hunter is refering to those FIFA's on the PS2, back then, they did look like ugly disproportionate ogres, and many faces were repeated on even top England League teams.
PES looked so much better back then, but Konami really need to start focusing on next-gen systems to get the best out of the PES franchise and up the graphics once again.

I was referring to FIFA 09 on the Xbox 360. I downloaded the trailer off the Marketplace and watched it, the grass and stadium etc looked perfect but the player's body's looked awful again. Completely disproportionate, if the gameplay is great then I can't see it affecting my overall opinion on the game much then but I'm simply saying that the player's body's are terrible.
PES 2008 player models had just about the correct body proportions and the players looked human size. However what ruined it was the "added gloss" that Konami put on them to make them seem like shiny dolls. However the player's body proportions were still spot on.

Not fanboyism at all. It's facts. To say that even player models look vbetter in Fifa is just pure fanboyism. I already PROOVED that I'm not a fanboy because I admit anything and this year Fofa is really good like Pes. Also I was the one to say that the stadiums are better in fifa but the player models are not.

I am Definitely Not a Fanboy, and although it's still an Opinion.. I think that PES09 Player Models are clearly better than FIFA's.
EA Sport's EURO 2008?? Have you played this game? Have you Noticed that Black Players are Literally Black? So Dark that you can't even notice any Facial Details?? In my Opinion, Player Models in FIFA08 and EURO08 are plain embarrassing.. I didn't even bothered watching the replays the few Times I've played those games.
On the other hand, PES08 had some Impressive Player Models, Ronaldo was pretty impressive -and- yes players looked like Wax figures in PES08, but they still had some great Facial Details.
By the way, PES09 seems to have Finally sorted out How to use the Lighting properly.. wich resulted in Players No Longer looking wax-like.

i cant be asked to explain anymore. You'd probably say a piece of turd is better than fifa due to your bias. The only good graphics on pes are the faces. The player models all look th esame. Shorts are repelled by a magnet around the player's legs. There's no texture/detail on it, no creases. Everyone looks shiny ,which is bad enough.

Now look at the pro evo 08 ones, they look so basic, so bland, so lifeless, no textures on the shirts, and each player looks the same apart from the face.

Dude.. Every player in FIFA looks the same except for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Leo Messi, and a few other Super Stars.
PES haves a much larger Variety of Faces -so- apart from the Popular Super Stars, we still get to see some Proper Looking Average players. It's a shame they don't Edit the Classic Players.
And as for the FIFA pic, Somehow Wayne Rooney in FIFA08 does Not looks like Rooney.. I don't know, this is where it becomes a matter of Opinion.
And in my opinion, PES08's Ronaldinho resembles Ronaldinho quite well.. yes he looks similar to a Wax figure -but- the Facial Details are good. Although, poor use of the Lighting.
Anyways, I don't like How Rooney looks in that Pic, he just doesn't looks "Normal".

And of course fifa 09 has the better gameplay as shown countless times. You probably are happy with your windows 95 too.
I agree totally that his face looks messed up, but you were talking about playere models. The player model is the body and shirt and boots and face. Fifa 08 wins on all acounts apart from the face, which can be fixed. But the player models as proven are superior on fia 08, and no matter how much you want to believe that the pes models are better, the reality is, they arent.
One thing about the FIFA sceens in comparison to the PES is that the formers players look like their standing on green concrete as the studs are visible when standing at all times whereas the latters behave similar to reality, i.e. the studs pierce the ground.....

haha likewise, I could say that pes players' feet are digging into the ground as you often see part of their foot disappear into the ground when they strike the ball.
And in real life, studs don't dig completely into the ground, otherwise you would find it difficult to run. They provide grip.
I dunno how much football you play in real life, but when I play the studs leave a mark in the turf, hence them breaking the surface of the ground......
