It's been a long time.

I really hope PES 2009 is better than 2008, i hated PES 2008 so much i had to resort to playing fifa 08!!!

Everything from the football pinging off the goal keepers (what was that about! they just seemed to drop everything and let the opsition have an easy tap in!!) to the draging crappy online mode, the lack of editing and the way you can take sombody like ronaldinho and run zig zags through all of the oppsing teams players and score.

All i ask is a decent football game PLEASE!!!

Amen brother! Though I did play PES 08 quite a lot and I'm actually busy with a master league with Man City with Robinho and Ronaldo, hehe...

But for fuck sakes, if they can only fix the lag and the defensive fuck ups the Ai made I'm sure PES09 will be a huge success...I'm so fed up with the defenders being all over the place in PES 08. One thing that is concerning is that in the gameplay videos of PES09 the defense seems better, but not at all what it should be. :(

ohhh and I forgot to add a decent edit mode...hopefully Seabass and his men stopped blowing each other off and concentrated on delivering a good football game like in the good old days. If they want to be gay, they can wait for week after PES09 is released and take one big grouphug in the shower.

I wish people on here would read up. If you'd looked around, you would have found that lag HAS been fixed, and the AI has been improved, every single preview/review has said that this is the game that PES 2008 should have been, it's not the best football game ever, but it's miles ahead of 2008.

And the edit mode is supposed to be huge this year.

Supossed? How sure are we that it's going to be huge? I'm pretty sceptical to say the least. And I know they said the AI has improved, and I can see in the gameplay movies that it has improved, but it's still lacking, watch the defense, they leave enormous gaps at times, as they did in PES08!

I did 'read up' actually but Konami lie! they said they had fixed the lag with that pointless patch the released early this year! The also stated that the AI for PES 2008 on the next-gen games was the best they had ever had with a new engine that learns how you play! (which was absolute shite!)

The only thing i believe is that they have got a proper edit mode, the rest i worry is bollocks!

well I won't be happy with a edit mode that is exactly the same as PES06, and I fear that is what we will get (only with the new image import stuff), I want a next gen edit mode, where I can edit logos on the socks, add as many sponsor logos on the teams kits as I like, whether they are on the sleeves, chest, back etc.

I can't believe everyone's so upset about the goalies fumbling balls... Don't you guys ever watch football? Any idea how often it happens? Premier League, sunday games: Robinson, Van de Sar (no way his injury had anything to do with that), Kuszczak... And that's just a small amount of examples... Cech on Euro?

I understand a consistent fucking-up of a top notch keeper is annoying, but every descent keeping screws up every now and then...

I rest my case -=)

YOU REST YOUR CASE!!!

yeah they sometimes drop the ball, but they quickly get on top of it! not stay on the floor for 20 mins so the opposition can toe poke it in the back of the net?!

Yes it sometimes does happen, but the keepers are so slow to react and it happens ALL the time

I rest MY case!

I completly agree with you. It does happen but happens less to very good goalkeeprs. If it happens in the game, I will be happy because that's realism. I don't want goalers that never makes a mistake because they will become robots not humans.
Also pes 09 is a huge improvement over 08 from what I've seen' The defense is much better and you can't dribble your way and trash the defense all the time like in 08.
The animations are better. The goalers are better and the graphics are obviously better. The edit mode is also back to normal.
I don't know why some people still complain. You should be happy that pes 09 is looking like a pes 5 with great graphics. I think it will better pes 5 too. I have high hopes after reading every review. Each review rated pes 09 very high. That's good.

again, i never had these problems... My defenses were always solid... you shouldnt blame Konami for your short comings with tactics, really...

PES08 looked good?? I cannot remember When.. PES08 looked shite -and- played just as bad. Honestly, PES08 is the only version of the series that actually "Plays" as bad as it Looks.

PES09 is a Significant Improvement, the Improvements are there for all to see.. wether you Manage to see them is another matter..

Although, of course, it isn't Next Gen.. But as someone (Crissgrann I think) has said a few Times; PES09 is only the 2nd try Konami have on Next Gen Consoles.
