Firstly, the Settings program is far better this time around. Screenshots below show the following:

-The game automatically detects resolutions up to 1680x1050 (possibly further) without the need for Kitserver this time around.

-Sound testing is as one would expect.

-CPU, RAM, graphics card and Video RAM are all detected and given a rating. The 3.3GB RAM above is correct as I'm using 4GB on a 32-bit OS which can only handle 4GB total RAM including Video RAM.

I've played one game so far, Italy v France. The players felt stiff to begin with but it was probably me as I got more used to it as time went by.

The pace seems slower than PES 2008 and I held off players who came up behind me and shielded the ball which is something that barely seemed to happen to me in PES 2008.

In one instance, I was even fouled by a French defender after holding him off for a couple of seconds with Cassano.

The graphics look sharper and animations appear more fluid. It isn't a complete overhaul but the colours, as they have in videos, certainly looked more vibrant than in PES 2008.

The ball physics seem good and the sound is...well the ball sound seemed rather different. There's only so much one can do with sound and people will always have different opinions on it. It didn't seem disappointing though.

There are no in-game System Settings or anything else to tinker with really. We can choose kits in Exhibition Mode but we also had that in PES 2008 - the key is whether we can once again choose kits in ML.

So far so good.

Looks good, glad to see surround sound in the game now.
I'll try and post something similar as I have slightly different specs and monitor resolution. At work atm and have to get back and download first.

I turned off the video option in the settings and it seemed to fix the problem I was having a while ago. First impressions is I don't hate it and the menu isn't as bad as I was expecting, they've also added the option for players to go up on set pieces which is nice, the rest of the team selection area is pretty much the same as you were.

My only real moan straight off is the cut of the players shorts and the tud off the ball, scandalous.

Part from that so far so good but I haven't tested the GK yet to any extent.

did you know your one post from 8000 !!

But i mustve been one of the first to use the FTP download, there are now hardly any seeds

A FTP site doesn't work with seeds.

1: Someone who has downloaded the demo, setup a torrent.

Im downloading now; 4% with 3 hours and 23 minutes remaining

2 Games played. So far my main concern is that you always have to watch the BAL/Legends intro video after the match. So with that said it means game seems great :)
AI definately is much better, side backs actually seem to be somewhere where they should, both attack and defense.
Keepers are better, not as good as I would hope (at least looks like it after two games). In first game, Pepe Reina made several good saves and keep me alive when I was struggling against man utd after first taking lead with Torres making Vidic pay for his mistake (AI failed to jump and head the ball, hope that wont happen too often...). United equalised just before the half time, Vidic scoring from rebound after huge chaos in front of my goal (after corner or freekick). Cant blame Reina (AI) for that one.

What else?
New player switch system seems nice, just need to use it more to get used to it.
Counterattacking seems great thanks to ability to pass/shoot free ball immediately (no more that annoying automatic "side stepping trying-to-steal-the-ball-animation" from 08)

Goalkeepers still lack ability to pick corners that come inside 5m box :(

In overall it looks fantastic game. Some transfers aren't done (like Riera to liverpool) but I guess (=hope) those will be fixed before the release.

Right guys sorry for the delay. I decided to play another few games to get a more overall view of the game and heres my conclusion. Pro's and cons included.

First off, Looks. Unbelievable. Konami have outdone themselves in the graphics department, i assure you that no screenshot or video will do this game justice until you have played it yourself and experienced it. During my first game Liverpool vs Real Madrid, i was shocked at how much more smoother and polished it appeared.

Konami have really taken into account the importance of "the little things" in these games. For instance, fans that look more realistic this time around holding scarves aloft and singing during the half time break, Ruud Van Nistelrooy giving Guti a pre-match team-talk on the pitch just before kick off, In the background Liverpool fans sung a rendition of "When the reds go marching in" as the game was playing, Barca fans with their drumming chant of "Barca!".

It appears each team has a selection of chants personal to them which the crowd sing during the game. I guess we will find out when the full game is released in 2 weeks. Either way, its another lovely little touch from Konami to add to the realism.

Secondly, the play. Even for someone such as myself, a seasoned PES gamer, the gameplay seemed totally different, newer, slower for a start, like a completely different game from the last version, but still recognisable as part of the PES series, this one will take some time to fully get to grips with.

The balls are alot more floaty in this edition of PES, the ball doesn't so much as zip along the grass anymore, and as a by-product, corners and throw-ins are rarer. The defensive AI is much better, no more gaping holes through the middle, as the centre-halves have those plugged pretty quickly, and as such, scoring chances were hard to come by for me to begin with.

1-2's no longer cut your opponent apart all the time, although the simple pass across the 6 yard box for the striker to tap in goal remains. Wingers do play an important part in most attacks now.

Shooting seems to have gotten harder, and 30 yard screamers are now impossible to pull off with anyone other than Gerrard et al. The goalkeeping AI has improved albeit not hugely, there are still fumbles but the higher the difficulty, the keeper does tend to get on top of any loose balls fairly quickly. And i've had a few one on ones now and short of rounding the keeper, it was hard to slot those away too.

In conclusion, this new game will take a while to master, you certainly won't pick it up straight away and be as good as you were on the last version, which is a good thing because it shows how much the game has changed, not just visually but the gameplay side of things too.

There are still some annoying little kinks of course, but hopefully time will work those out, namely the passing, its no longer a given to get it straight to your man, and the shooting, you'll balloon your shots for the first few times.

Any other requests, what you'd like to know if you don't want to wait, i'll be happy to oblige and answer them.

Liverpool aren't much good in the game unfortunately. Reina and the defence are pretty average, despite being the best defence in Europe over the past 3 seasons. Torres 33 goals last year did him no favours with Seabass it seems, nor did Babels impressive start to the season.

Ronaldo and Messi are unplayable and will take some stopping.

do the AI controlled messi and ronaldo seem to run at you more often than say yaya toure or carrick?

Fairly underwhelmed by the demo myself. The cons outweigh the pros by some margin.

Cons:
Dribbling not as slick as last years. Seems cumbersome and the ball feels even lighter. Looks like it's on a shoestring when you sprint with it.

Gameplay therefore feels very rigid. Almost as if the play is restricted to straight lines. Just not as fluid as FIFA.

As the guy above said, shoot from distance as you have been in 2008 and you'll go way off the mark.

The players shorts are too long. Kits in general don't look quite right, at least not as good as 2008. A bit too shaded perhaps?

Pros:

Better lighting on the stadiums and pitch.

Player likenesses seem to have generally improved.

Id agree that the lighting and the likenesses have improved, but i disagree that the dribbling isn't as slick, i think its more to do with the fact that people aren't used to it yet that the play seems rigid, you have your opinion and i respect it, but i personally feel that this is a sizeable step forward and FIFA 09 is not a patch on it. I like it and i feel that once the full game comes along and ive gotten used to it, it should be alot more exciting.

And John yes, Messi does tend to go alone in the game more often than other players, i assume its the same for Ronaldo but i haven't really played United too much.

Right now i am at a friends house where we play the demo.

1. The goalkeepers are shit again. instead of just picking up the ball, Van der Sar makes a dive to it and you would think he will hold on to it, but no he punches it away WHILE LYING ON THE GROUND, Very awkward. I thought we were over that?? guess NOT!

2. The goalkeepers aren't as good as in the Leipzig build

3. The sound of the ball is my opinion way to loud and extreme

4. I had the feeling I was Messi even when i was a defender.

5. The pace is too fast. My eyes hurt.

6. On top player I won a match 5-4

I am so disappointed. this is a real let down. Everything they promised us, especially those guy's at WENB turned out to be false.

EDIT: o yeah, all my goals were scored in rebound. I wasn't happy when i scored a goal.
