Penalty Taking

I was playing against my Brother there on pes 2008. We go to penalties... me and him SKY about 4 pens over the bar. My Question is...

When a player hits the ball over the bar, is it just very unlucky? or was i holding top right too long ? I Personally think its random

It'll no doubt he the exact same in PES2009 imo unless someone has got a penalty and can say other

We both played with our teams in the Red, no-one had grey etc incase that was gonna be the answer i was about to receive

unless the player is (stats wise) decent then they'll usually miss.

see thats the thing ... it was very decent players that were missing !! ... aiming bottom left, i tap shoot and it goes wide

I remember reading ages ago, like when PES4 was out, that sometimes it was a case of taking the penalty to quicly and other times it was just a case of being unlucky.

Like i said though that was ages ago so i can't verify it and it may have changed now but...............

I wouldn't be surprised if it was random. I think they should bring in a lot of different shooting options (as mentioned in other threads) for the penalty shootout, and how far your player shoots to the left or right dependson how far you push the right analog right or left. So if you want to nail it in the bottom corner, it is a risk you take and you need to push the analog exactly the correct amount in the desired direction!

In PES2008 if you shoot straight down the middle (low) you never miss.

This is the only thing I'd love them to implement from FIFA.

A power bar when kicking a penalty would be great or at least more control over the penalty. Maybe like ISS 64, as shown in this video

I loved how the shooters square was smaller depending on his shot accuracy or which foot he used.

It makes penalties less random and you'd feel a lot prouder if you won on penalties.

yeah i know, if i get a penalty i always shoot down the middle against the AI in PES08, i have never seen the AI save it. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and it's not random...but i still think they should bring a lot more skill into taking penalties, that way the penalty shootouts won't piss everybody off

I always thought in the last few PES', it depended on the condition of the player. I player in the worst condition for me would most likely always blast over the bar, even if u just simply tap shoot.

i just had a penalty there on the demo. I won it with keane, 1 nil up and i take Gerrard off the pen to give it to Keane. I put it past the right post.

I know what your thinking. Gerrard is twice the penalty taker that Keane is, but id disagree.. irl Keane was Spurs/Ireland's pen taker

I think in the new pro, it'll be down to the players stats

What are the new pens like? an improvement on the last game I am hoping, although I saw a vid on the 'tube and the run ups were laughable!

Still debating whether to play the demo I just downloaded or wait 2 weeks???

lmao demo it my friend.... Ronaldo does his fake stop durin his run up to take the pen ... the pens are more or less the same imo .. i dunno wot the camera angle will be like wen savin the pen tho

I know that when you hold down the penalty will go centre but along the floor. So maybe if you hold up for too long it alters it.

I haven't done a real test so I can't really state facts. But I dont think its a coincidence to Sky 4 pens over the bar.
