If there is some contract thing with ea that prevents konami from updating transfers , then why cant they call them by similar names like berbatoss (berbatov), Nobinho (robinho), ect. im sure thats what they used to do anyway.

In pro football everything involves money. You have to pay off all kinds of people to use their intellectual property, which is why you didn't see real player names until Konami finally paid off FIFPRO, etc.

These days chances are even having a "Berbatoss" will cost money. A lawyer will come to Konami and say hey this Berbatoss fella looks an awful lot like Berbatov, so pay up. Same can be said about stadiums I guess. They'll say hey this stadium looks just like ours, it even has the same seating capacity and built in the same year only thing missing is the name so for a small fee we'll let you keep it. It makes it even more tough when you have a player like EA in the field, able to easily outbid you at every opportunity.

I'm really just talkin out of my ass but don't be surpised if something like this were true. If you do anything that turns a profit with someone's intellectual property, they'll want a piece.

will you be able to transfer players without having to exchange a player from the other club in question, this is something that really annoyed me with pes 08, you should be able to put a player on a club and thats that.

EA would find a way to get money for that, however, technically it would be allowed as Konami could say it was a Parody of the real player, parodies are permitted by law.

What version are you talking about? The PS3 one was good for that

for example in pes 2008, if you wanted to put berbatov on united you would have to put a united player on spurs, you couldn't just put a player in a squad

Berbatoss or Nobinho would ruin the game. Konami's names are excellent, but you cant look at it.
Also "These days chances are even having a "Berbatoss" will cost money. A lawyer will come to Konami and say hey this Berbatoss fella looks an awful lot like Berbatov, so pay up." You surely don't know that Berbatov fake name is Benbatov, do you? :D

Yeah, you could unless the squads were full, there was an add player option on the register player club screen. ;)

How about reading the whole story before trying to be a smartass? Otherwise you'll just look like a dumbass
There's a reason why I quoted Berbatoss as the TC came up with that.

Interesting indeed but I agree with you, EA would find a way around it
