Pes09 Ign Review!

I think the review seems to be fair & at the end of the day 8.5 is not a bad score & i think everyone here on the forums know the flaws of PES & should really know what to expect.
It sounds like a vastly superior game to PES 08 & we should all be encouraged by this & im sure we will all be saying how much we enjoy the game in just over a weeks time.

They never get their facts right do they. They always make out that PES copied Become a Legend from EA, When it was the other way round!

Some fair points in the review, but a very poor one nontheless.

Im sure the lag won't be that bad, put it this way, it cant be any worse than the lag from 08.
Totally agree there. After reading the review i must say it sounds brilliant, let's face it guys with the option files you can download and along with the edit mode and not forgetting the superlative gameplay. What more do we want ?. Saying that though i think next year is a must for konami to move the game to true next gen graphics.:)

He said that this is the more fun game of the two... then went on to say that FIFA is better because of licences and the like

Surely if it's more fun, it's a better game?

Nothing at all I imagine, just some knob who is a fan of neither game and was blinded by the sparkling lights of EA.

It makes me chuckle how IGN make Fifa's menu's sound like they're brilliant, when in actual fact, they're annoying and slow to navigate.

People complain that Fifa isn't very responsive on the pitch. Last year they weren't, but this year it's a lot better. Off the pitch though, is another story. It seems like you press X on a menu and it takes a few seconds to work out what you'd pressed. The same goes for making subs etc. :/

At least with PES, making a tactical change isn't some long, drawn out process.

But surely that's down to which game you are more used to, as a FIFA user wouldn't understand the performance arrows etc...

In terms of navigation, PES does seem simpler, but I'm not sure if that's because I'm less used to FIFA.

Yeh i know what u mean, Konami definately need to pull out all the stops for next years i feel & must have a re-think about the direction the game is taking.

8.5 for a game that looks and feels(demo) like PES 2008?

This may be the first time I won't buy a Konami football game.

I don't mean in terms of just not being able to find stuff so easily, it's how responsive the menu's are/how quick they load in comparison. When you hit the directional button for the menu to "open" as such, there's a pause before you see it. The same goes with making subs etc. Whether this has something to do with the "Arena" in the BG causing it to run slow, I don't know.

Either way, Fifa's in my bad books at the moment for the crashes I'm getting on PS3. Not to mention the annoying in-game bugs, that I fear will probably just be fixed for 2010, rather than patched.

How does this feel like pro08 its nothing like that for instance i cant run with Henry from my goal line and score a goal with him.

The graphics are quality compared to 08 everything is superior.

I agree about the slow responsiveness of the menus, but also the fact that they are the exact same as last years, whereas PES has at least tried to make an effort.

Too bad this effort is only showed on the menus.

Oh I feel for you about the bugs.
Try ringing them up.

I have with Ronaldo.

You can't with Henry because his stats have gone awful. He really sucks now.

I just feel the core game is the same. Animation, passing, A.I. Its just so last gen. It feels more restrictive then ever and in some ways more scripted too. The overall feel of the game seems like a low budget footy game. PES has never been like that.

I've loved all the ISS/PES games until Next-Gen happened. Its just a woeful attempt to be honest.

But thats just my opinion :)

Wow ive actually just read the review and its a complete joke of a review, didnt these fools at IGN rate pro evo 08 much higher yet they state this is the best pro to date yet give it an 8.5 WTF.

The fuker even goes on to say that the FIFA grapics are better than Pros err has he seen the player likness in pro09.
