Looks exactly like PES 2008.
That is saying something.

hey man! long time no see!

I am a bit baffled at your comments towards PES this year.... I just don't see how you can't tell how much better it is? Sure it's not the ultimate next gen game this year, but it's certainly a playable and quite enjoyable version of the game if not the massive jump we'd hoped for...

For me I can see this game lasting the whole year, as I barely played last years sorry effort. I've probably played the demo more than last years altogether...

^Agreed. It looks nothing like 08.

Agreed as well. I played 2008 in master leauge over 7 seasons and the demo feels different. It has the usual PES similarities (ie. commentators, player movement, entrances, all that). For me the body balance godlyness is gone and the physics are alot better. These changes alone make the gameplay alot better.

The grapchis are also alot better :).

It has been a long time pal. :)

Graphically it looks better yes. But the game at the core is the same.
I agree it is better than last year. Konami have looked at last years criticisms and have taken them into account but thats it.

People wanted a slower tempo, better editing tools, better graphics and yes Konami may have delivered on that but they forget the most important thing and that is that we want a better football game too.

We want to have the closest thing to the real game as possible and to me the PES 09 demo ignores that. If you look at the game and then think of an actual football game then they don't look similar at all.

Its stuck in the PS2 days for me. Far too many negatives. A cheap imitation of football thats all it is. I used to think that I was a fan of the series but in actual fact I'm fan of football and only care about the game that goes hand in hand with actual football.

I would carry on but I have to go. :)

Yeah fair enough, but they can't really make a "better football game" without improving the faults of the previous title. I imagine PES 2009 is a starting point. Remember how much better PES 3 was than 1&2? I think we're going to have a similar evolution this time round. 2010 will be the one.

I love the fog in the champions league games. I always think of Turin when I see it for some reason.

Do you reckon it'll be in other game modes? I think it looks sweeet and a shame to be missing from the rest of the game...

I am happy they have improved the faults, but when they only do that and expect the fans to be happy thats my problem.

I understand your theory of 2010 being amazing but why would I have to wait when Fifa 09 is a pretty good simulation already? Plus PES 09 has showed me that Konami may never start from the bottom up, as this was their perfect chance to do so.

They've been working from the bottom up since just before the release of 2008, we've just had no evidence of it yet... so they'll have had much longer to work the new engine which is said to be ready for the next edition. With that in mind considering the size of the company, they've done well just to improve the faults of last year. I know it's hard to see now, but in the long run things will get better and we'll just have to be happy with what we do have.

Looks better than last year and looks better than the current demo, however, those 2 who are playing are absolutely awful :fplm:

Next edition? Always the same with these guys.

So why buy this game? Why not wait a year later?
This game has far too many problems to bother paying £35 for.

Oh and Kev an attitude like that lets people like Konami get away with selling half baked games such as PES. If people like you were to boycott such a game, I'm sure it would serve as a huge wake up call for lazy game makers like seabass himself.

Anyway pal, I may add ya to my Friends list on my PS3 if ya lucky

It does come to something when we're relying on Canadians and Japanese to provide a decent footy game. Where are the European developers???

I could be dead in another year! Personally i really like the demo and it's a massive step up from 2008, on the PS3 anyway (i liked it on the PS2). i just pray that the online mode works well so i can play with my mates back in England, because i have no mates in the US who have a clue about football, let alone playing Pro Evo.
