For PC gamers: Could someone please tell me how the full version of PES2009 compares with PES 2008 and the demo version of PES 2009? Especially in terms of gameplay.

Cheers!

No, sorry... PES 2009 is still CRAP!!!

I've bought it yesterday and now I'm through with CL and EURO-championship (not to forget some friendly matches), so I've spend at least 6-7 hours, which is definitely enough to get a very good impression. But I can't close my eyes any longer from the fact: Goodbye PES 2009.

Yeah, PES 2009 IS better than PES 2008, no doubt. Although, it wasn't that hard to beat PES 2008... So, last year I wasn't too disappointed, because it was a big step from PES 6 to PES 2008... You know, new engine and what comes with it. That's why I said: "Okay, Konami, you made some mistakes but there some good improvements, so next year it will be perfect as always. And hey, there's no rival..."

Well, this year it's sooo much different. To my big surprise FIFA 09 made a HUGE step forward. Yes, FIFA has its weaks, but it's the first time, I'm getting MAD with PES. Congratulations Konami, you've made PES 2009 even more worse!!! Of course I've played the demo a couple of times, so I was warned. But sometimes wonder will happen and a full game CAN be a lot better... Unforunately, it was not the case.

It's driving me crazy when I see my PES players running. It looks sooo weird as they're made of wood and even more flying above the turf. And the ball physics... Play PES 2009 and immediately after that PES 6. You will see and know what I mean.

What else is p***** me off....Hmm...Ah, yes! The sound! Some will say:"Are you nuts?! PES is about gameplay!" Yeah, right. But when the gameplay sucks, you pay more attention to another aspects. The sound when you hit the ball is hilarious, as if you're playing with a volleyball. Not to forget the commentary...I only know the German version, but it's the third year(!!!) in a row exactly same. Apart from very few samplings due to the CL.

Back to the ball physics and player animations. Those animations doesn't look so smooth as at PES 6 or now even at FIFA 09. For example when someone is shooting, it doesn't look realistic too many times. Or when the player are pushing or tackling, it's hard to explain it right, but it looks almost everytime same. Another point for FIFA09, where you have a lot of new moves, which, although I was very sceptical at the beginning when I read game infos (you know, promotion blah blah), you definitely notice. Especially after playing PES 09.

I'm sooo glad, that I bought my game at GameStop, where I can take it back within 7 days, otherwise I would cry due to the loss of my money. I've own(ed) PES 3-6 and PES 2008, and it's the first time I'm selling it right after the release.

Congratulations Konami! You've lost a great fan of PES. I hope more people will selling it or (even better) don't buy it, in order to wake up the people at Konami und getting back to roots. I don't want too much, just PES 6 with a modern graphic engine, which would be PERFECT!!!

My advice: Better play PES 6 (of course with a recent OF) or (if you want a newer game) buy FIFA 09! Sad but true....

P.S.: The best part of PES 2009? The editor *applause*

My first impressions on the final PES 2009 version:

PES 2009 DEMO > PES 2009 > PES 2008

Most people do say the final version is better than the demo though....

Anyways, they're a million times better than 2008...

I think PES09 is great. Online wise I haven't had any BIG lag issues which is more I can say for PES6 + 08. Just make sure you get the green light next to your name in the match room. If its yellow then it might lag, red and it will lag really bad for sure.

So many of my friends have tried to get me into the FIFA series, but it sucks so much compared to PES, sorry! I was loving the legends mode until I got to week 36 and it crashes constantly and wont let me continue in the "be a legend" mode, but no doubt this will be fix soon.

Another thing I'm happy with is the chat room feature... I'm so glad this is back, I made a few good friends in PES6 with that. They must of had a screw loose removing it from 08...

I did notice a 'zippier' feel when playing in the rain... but it might just be me being mezmerized by the pretty swirling rain!

Meh! - Enjoy updating your machine every 5 mins to be able to play a new game and the joy of possible crashing game in BAL mode...

Pffff?? Enjoy paying for a new console every 6months, enjoy getting conned for downloadable content, enjoy paying for the ability to play online and last but not least, enjoy paying £40-50 for EACH game.

Games only crash on PC because most of the time the person has no idea what he's doing.

I have a nice 22" widesceen LCD and I use a PS2 control for PES. ;)
