Ok so like everyone else i'd assume, i have been absolutely buzzing for this new edition of the greatest game ever. So i drag my self to my local Tesco 24 hour to purchase the game at 12 o'clock, the turn of the 17th to find they have no copies for it for the PS2, so then I tried ASDA who said them same but also they thought they would be getting them in at the end of the month. So i got home, fired up the internet to fid that the official release date for the PS2 is the 31st of October. Where on this earth is the logic there, i have never heard so much rubbish in all my life. That is a disgrace an outrage as well as a farce all rolled into one.

Ill still buy it on the 31st for sure, but ill be having words!!!!

the ps2 version will still play a million times better.

i hate the next gen version.its just my opinion.

i play pes 2008 ps2 version on my ps3 every day because the ps3 version of pes 2008 is a joke.

i also think the next gen version of pes 2009 is a joke.

cant wait to play the ps2 version of 09 on my ps3.

yeh 31st i think play.com have it down for.

i been looking 4wd to the ps2 version much more than the next gen version as soon as i saw the way the next gen version played i knew i would not like it.

i have the pes 2009 ps3 and i hate it.ill never play it again....

The only reason I don't purchase myself a PS3 is mainly due to the fact ive heard that Pro Evo is a shambles for it so im just gonna stick to my guns, and ride out the next two weeks until it is launched on the 31st for the PS2. After all, I really like the 08 version unlike some, but cant wait to master the new version.

ha ha ,i dont see the point in releasing the ps2 version a week or 2 later,but i know that the ps2 version will be better,escpecially for editing purpose,which is why i love the ps2 version.i hope somebody makes a pes 2009 editor though.

i hope the reason they held it bk is for the update they putting on the next-gens in Nov. (Sevilla, Athletic Madrid etc,) to be added to it b4 release which seems to be the ONLY logical reason.

KCET have already annouced that the Champions League licence will NOT be included in the PS2 version of PES 2009. This was announced about a month ago I think.

And yes, like most people here who have posted in this thread, I'm looking forward to the release of the PS2 version of PES 2009 seeing as I don't have and can't afford a PS3.

Why not!! What's the difference?? If Konami has bought the rights to the UEFA CL then why is not playable on every format, It doesn's make sense, there is no reason that it can't be present on the PS2 version. There is no requirement for next gen for the UEFA CL part of the game!!! Another case of us PS2 gamers S*%T on again from a great height!!!!

Starting to turn against the makers of the game that i have been addicted to for nearly 10 years!!! :realmad:

I'm so sad and angry with this decision. I can't understand why we can't enjoy UEFA CL in our great pes. I don't have to buy better PC and to buy nex-gen so why Konami takes a shit on me? Is it a final and evidenced info with lack od CL? I'm dissapointed...

I will play it anyway because I like it so much (btw ps2 ver has better gameplay than nexgen's imo)

PS2 version rocks, much better than this "next gen" stuff (even though next gen is now 3 years old lol).

09 on PS3 sucks balls and reading all the interviews about game engines etc it seems 2010 will be just the same.

When will someone other than Konami and EA try to create a football game? They could clean up as almost all PES gamers would try it.
