Become A Legend -- Top Player Impossible????

Alright lads and ladies,

I dont wanna sound like a PES noob because im far from it, but on the "become a legend" mode, does anyone find it near on impossible to play well on "top player".

I have the game for the x-box 360 and i'm just keen to know what difficulty level you "Become a legend" players are playing it on. I dont want to start at the very bottom difficulty level or the very top but somewhere in between might benefit me until i become good at it.

Any advice, would be much appreciated!

Matt

It's not that hard

My first season with Bilbao I ended up with 3 goals and 2 assists, averaged 6.08 rating in 33 matches. Not great, but I wasn't a starter either. This second season I signed with Valencia, and I've become a starter, it's much easier to play with good players around you. Now my average rating is 6.78 or 6.87, I forget which.

Play it as if it was a real soccer game, don't try to be a hero just keep the ball moving and get your player some space. Don't run everywhere, just look for openings and ask for the ball, leave the running for your teammates. Don't dribble the ball too much unless you need that little space to take a shot. I have 4 goals and 3 assists now in Valencia in 10 games.

by the way, I don't use the default camera. I hate it for dribbling because the direction of the pad is different when the camera moves. You should either use the Player camera (I think this one is great, I just wish you could move the camera yourself) or just use the normal Wide following the ball and look at the map to position the player when the ball is far from you.

Top player is far from impossible. Don't expect miracles when your first starting off, because they wont happen.

If you play any of the lower difficulty settings, the AI will just get worse, making stupid mistakes to compensate for the difficulty level that you choose. This is what most people don't seem to understand. Then make posts like the AI are stupid...

It feels more rewarding to play with top player difficulty, just stick with it and you'll get there in the end.

Gaf: I played top player difficulty, and still find the AI is a bit stupid. For example, my GK received a backpass from one of my defender. Then, he, comfortable enough, try to take Adebayor, which at that time rushing forward!! I can't believe my eyes.. either my gk was blind or adebayor was too small and he didn't notice it -.-

and as I stated on my other post, sometimes out-of-nowhere player can even gets pass 4 or 5 of my defenders.. and it was Valencia. Marchena, Helguera, etc etc being played like a child.. lol..

Yes, your going to get mistakes whatever difficulty, but top player they make less, they play far better and break teams down better. But, just as your team will break the next team down, the opposing team will also break you down. I tried regular and professional, but neither felt that good TBH, I never want to buy a game that's too easy, because it gets boring quick. I want a challenge as soon as I load the game up. :)

Top player may not be challenging for me when I play on the normal modes, but BAL, Jesus.... That's a challenge. :)

BTW, even if you keep getting your ass kicked, you will still have a team to play for at the end of the day, good or bad. Remember, if you intend to play legends online, what difficulty setting do you think the host will choose? If I was hosting I'd go for top player every time.

How do you make the camera track the ball rather than yourself? I want to do it exactly like you are saying, using the radar to position myself when i'm off screen.

Change the camera to follow the ball instead of the player. :) You answered your own question ;)

Its impossible to play though. :( Even if you use the radar. I just use wide (not vertical.

yep.. vertical is evil. strange pad :D

@Gaf: i never tried the regular and prof. when i tried pes 2009 the first time, i accidentally chose top player (because i was sleepy. 4 am , man!) haha.
And obviously I didn't know how to change it until yesterday I tried to create another player.

my 23 years old WF (previous saved game, 5th season stats):

balance:75
stamina:86
speed:92
accel:74 (not sure)

and the rests were 70 something and 60 something for shot power :D

I've played fix mode alot on old versions where you can't set the camera to follow the player, so i'm used to using the radar. I much prefer it that way. I hate not being able to see what's going on on the ball.

I play is tons of positions now lol... DMF, CMF, AMF, SMF and SS.... Started of as a AMF :)

I can't remember most of my stats but I'm trying to make him identical to Stevie G :)

So far...

Body Balance - 85
Stamina - 81
Speed - 80
Acceleration - 75...
Response - 80

Long pass speed - 79
Long pass acc - 76

Short pass speed - 78
Short pass acc 74

What difficulty level do you play?

The higher the difficulty level, the more fluent your team will play. Meaning you don't have to track back all the time playing as a CF :)

Top player difficulty is not that hard i think. The AI can be easily fooled with shoot feint. The most bizarre thing is, when trying regular difficulty the AI can't be fooled with shoot feint (weird). However, in regular difficulty the AI never rush to mark you immediately.

p.s.: Anybody know how to make the starting player agility stat 80+? I want to become a messi... :D
