okay, can somebody clarify this please.

i tried FIFA 09 on PC over the last few weeks, and when i load the game, the graphics look like crap, they actually hurt my eyes, the grass is way too bright, i cant see ANY details when i control a player.

i have 1920x1200 res on 24" widescreen, all graphics on High, i just dont get it, how come everyone says FIFA has better graphics, while for me its just crap? is there a patch or some tweak to fix this? i mean, they dont look broken, they just look bad.

also there is a bug where i cant change the tackle key assignments to match PES's on my ramblepad 2, i change it but it does not get recorded.

On that note, FIFA did look choppy as I've said many posts back. What graphics card do you have? If it doesn't look sharp, try forcing AA in your graphics card control panel.

This is fifa disease ever since fifa 06. I think it's written on the readme that you can't save gamepad config (cmiiw).

Yeah Hazey tried online last night it was very poor . It took nearly a half an hour to log in and it was very poor.

dbuslaev...I have tried fifa 09 on the Pc and it didn't do it any justice pes runs alot smoother to get the best from fifa you have to use a console. I have read a lot about it on some other forums but I am sure some nut is going 2 get pissed at me for saying that .

Yes and that proves why PES is the better game... Going cross platforms ain't easy at the least, but Konami have pulled it off and not for the first time might I add.

Having a PS3, i couldn't give a toss about how Fifa is on the PC, so i think it's a pretty weak reason for Pro Evo being a better game.

I really do hope that everyone is right about Pro Evo getting better and better and better the more you play, because right now i'm honestly enjoying Fifa loads more. You can play such beautiful, Arsenal style quick passing moves at close quarters. You can kind of replicate this in Pro Evo, but not really on the same level i don't think. Now i just need to learn a few tricks in Fifa so i can beat defenders, and i'll be well away. It's got the goalmout scrambles, the volleys from dropping balls outside the area, the lofted through balls, it's got pretty much everything to be honest. The only things that still wind me up are referees blowing for a free kick after appearing to play the advantage, the CPU sometimes refusing to let you change player to the nearest one to a loose ball, and how hard it can be to catch any player once they are through on goal. I think the last two things are my fault though, because i seem to be improving at stopping these things from happening. Fabregas feels amazing to play with by the way, just like real life. He comes to collect the ball from the defenders every time, he turns really quickly, and can thread a needle with his passing. The more and more i playh with Arsenal, the more and more each player feels like their reallife counterpart. Clichy bursting from defence, Walcott coming deep to collect the ball and spring a counter attack when you're winning, Nasri, RVP and Rosicky with their tight dribbling and movement. It really is class. For all those who have played it for 10 minutes then sacked it off, i understand why you did it, because it pissed me off at first. I suggest you rent it, change the controls to exactly match Pro Evo so you feel at home (even changing the player movement to d-pad), and really give it a good go. You won't be disappointed.

Its not a weak reason, its a perfect example of where Konami are heading. Making a game cross platform and succeeding opens up many doors. I know FIFA is more for console players, but you will still have allot of people who want it for PC, and if those people think the game sucks, they may turn to PES. Being weak is not being able to make a cross platform game. Consoles all work the same, you can't upgrade the components. PC's you can.

I wont take the fact away that your enjoying FIFA at the moment, but I've seen many posts on this forum saying "FIFA is the best football game this YEAR!" then a few days later the same person will reply with, "why on earth did I bother with FIFA, it was good at first, now I'm bored.".

I understand why they say that, but i think it's probably due to the fact that they aren't willing to take the next step and master the art of dribbling etc. so they get bored with just pass pass pass. I'm personally enjoying the challenge of mastering it, and more and more entertaining things are happening with each game. I think it's a harder game to master than Pro Evo, but when you do it will be stunning. The only thing that could ruin it is if it becomes evident that pulling off tricks consistently in a timely manner is impossible, and long shots really are a waste of time. But i don't think this is the case, because the computer's scored some sick goals passed me, the best being a Robinho dipping half volley from 35 yards from a knock down. As soon as i start pulling this kind of thing my affair with Fifa will become a full time relationship.

LOL... That's the exact same reason why some slate PES, for one they haven't given it a chance, and two, they most probably stuck the disc in and couldn't master the game quick enough... Things have changed in PES, some like others don't and kick up a fuss... But that's how its always going to be.

You say about dribbling on FIFA... You say its good and others have said its crap. There could be a good enough reason behind that, not because the game is shit.

Defending on PES, I think it could be a bit better but its easy enough if you know how. I played matches online where some players don't have a clue and I can just walk straight through without having to use any skills or dribble, others are amazing at defending and its really hard to break them down. So again, there's a reason as to why people think the defending is shit, also not because the game is shit. I've said the defending ain't perfect but if your good enough, you can adjust.

That's exactly right. I think there's every chance with both games, you're only going to get out what you put in. I just feel at the moment like Fifa plays more like an evolved Pro Evo of the golden days (a few years back) than Pro Evo does. I'm just going to have to play them both to death and see how i feel in a couple of months. I could really do with Pro Evo working well online for me though, because i have no mates in the US who could put up a half decent fight against me.

There's about 3 or 4 that have posted, but didn't you say you have PES on console? Whereas the others have it on PC. :(

Maybe the best thing you can do is create a topic looking for US console players? Then keep it in your signature so the post doesn't die. :)

i dont know you big pes up sayin its better becuse it works better across all formats, but doesnt that mean wer all getting the same game? which has always been a bad thing, i.e you pay 15 pounds for it and i've gotta pay 27 to 40 pounds for it

Okay we admit that Fifa has come on leaps and bounds but as the arguement was put on here you can't polish a turd ;) gaffa .

Triggle beef I have the game longer than Pes and the only team I always play with is Arsenal . I am not giving my review based on a ten minute game . I think after you play the games to death you will find the same old bimbo system leaking in .

Fifa does run very smooth and I cant talk enough about the atmosphere in the game it really is class but you will start making the same runs and having the same finish inside the box the game becomes about as exciting as watching Liverpool (sry Gaffa).
