Online play problem!

I have a strange problem.

I can play quick matches without any problems.

But i can not join a room or nobody can join my room.

How to fix this?

I have the exact same problem. I can enter the servers and game lobbys and I can play quick matches but I cannot connect to any match rooms or anyone enter my match rooms.

This also happened to me and my friend in PES 2008, but we thought it was normal because everybody was complaining of the online mode's problems. However, the problem is exactly the same now, so any help is welcome. Thanks!

I already have taken actions in trying to fix this:

1) Disable all firewalls
2) Open port 5738-5739
3) Speedtest: http://www.konami.jp/we/network/2009/uk/pc/speedtest.html
4) Network inspection tool: http://www.konami.jp/we/network/2009/uk/pc/tool.html

I have done all these steps, none of them fixed it.

I have a good connection, all A's

Your internet connection is one which allows you to enjoy online gaming including creating match rooms (becoming an owner).

I'm bumping this thread because I still need help for this problem in PC Online mode. Clearly Olliebollie and I have the same problem, probably more people have it.

We can connect Online in every try.
We can enter any server all the time.
We can play quick matches all the time.

BUT WE NEVER EVER EVER EVER can play in a room, either hosting or entering, we get the "An error has occurred" message and that's it. I've just ran all the tests on PES09 Network Portal and everything is "A", everything says "You can play" when I really can't. In PES 2008 I had the exact same problem, which means that I haven't played online since PES6 (more than a year without playing PES online, that's right, imagine that). Please please reply to this if you have the same problem, what you did, any suggestion whatsoever!

I can play online, but I got an error awhile ago when I tried to go on. PES crashed and sent me to the desktop while it was connecting.... so I turned off my torrent client and it worked again.

my advice is if you have tried what ollie recommended in his post and your game still doesn't work maybe its an ISP problem (are u guys in a college dorm, they have some serious firewalls behind those edu connections) or maybe you have some software that may be blocking your connection. All else fails contact the blokes at Konami.

Nop, it's not an ISP problem because I study in a city and on weekends I go to my home town (different ISPs) and it doesn't work in any of the places. As for software blocking, it's strange because what's the difference between quick matches and match room games so that I can't connect or no one can connect to my rooms but I can play quick matches. Nevertheless, thanks for replying!

Do you all have PES for PC? If so, what's your OS?

I ask this because you can open your ports through your windows network settings. (Not your windows firewall)

I'm using Vista and haven't used XP for a while now. So I can help more if you have Vista.

Also, just check and make sure you have uPnP enabled. This is a must for playing most games nowadays online...

i have the exact same problem but i'm playing on a ps3 can play all other games online but cannot enter match rooms or no one can enter mine, am going to try messing around with mtu settings see if it helps, but very frustrating.

Match rooms are set up by the individual and you are required to connect to them in order to play. Quick matches however simply pair you up with anyone else who is also awaiting a quick match. If you have a firewall, router, or wireless connection these can all hinder your connection to others and stop you from creating a room, or people from joining a room you can make.

Check all firewall settings, make sure your router is configured correctly, and remove the wireless connection in favour of a hard-line connection.

Just went into my routers setting and lowered its firewall to its minimum settings and hey presto could play my first game online last night, still a bit of lag and ghosting but better than nothing.

I had same problem guys.....but just dont bother with the game online.

No fix....no point in contacting Konami. All they will do is send u a standard reply and do absolutely nothing.

For the record, I was behind

NO ROUTER
HAD 10MB CONNECTION
DISABLED
HIGH SPEC PC
etc
etc
etc

EVERY OTHER GAME I WANT TO PLAY ONLINE WORKS JUST FINE!

But not Pro Evo.
