Network Problems

Hi, I'm having trouble in connecting to the PES 2009 network to play online.

I get this message when I click 'Network' from the main screen.

Unable to transmit using UDP port 3658. You may need to connect directly to the internet or adjust your connection device i.e. router settings etc.
Assign DMZ, Port Mapping, Configure NAT Table and other router settings to the Playstation3 system.

I'm using a wired connection, but I have a friend who is also getting this message on wireless.

What is the problem and how can it be resolved? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

You need to allow port 3658 to be forwarded by your router. All routers are different so I can give explicit instructions on how to do this. Search via Google for a guide on port forwarding for your specific router.

I had this problem, this was when I was downloading a game demo from the playstation store. I tried again when I'd finished the download & it worked. That's the only help I can give unfortunately, hope it helps though.

Also, I'm still having a problem getting online a it says my Game ID/Password is wrong when I know it's right & I have tried re-entering both several times & it still says they're wrong. Any help? could it be because I downloaded a new Option File as I got online fine before then. If I can't get it to work then I think I'll just create a new account.

Check the game hasnt stuck and extra space at the end of your login details. Pressing start is known to do this.

Yeh, I always press L1 once or twice to make sure & it still says it's wrong. Dunn o hw the game could be stuck as it happens on several occasions & every time I've managed to go back to the menu & play BAL or whatever. Thanks anyway though.

I had some network issues , and I optimized my router and PS3 system like that:
First go to the next youtube link and follow the instructions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hidZdIfoYPI

The only thing I did different - In my PS3 system in the DNS address I entered my ISP's (Internet Service Provider) DNS addresses (if you don't know the addresses try to google it).

For the router configuration you can assist www.portforward.com - Go to guides - and "Port Forwarding Guides by Router" - select your router and - select "PlayStation Network" and open the next ports:
3478, 3479.
80, 443, 5223, 3658.
My router as a "port forwarding" option as well as a "virtual server" option under "NAT" , I enabled them both and put the first two ports (3478, 3479) in the port forwarding tab, I put all the other ports in the virtual server tab. (in www.portforward.com you will get the instructions for your router).
I also canceled the "Auto Login" option in the game.

One last thing, If you are using a wireless connection it is best according to SONY to use the "access control" option in your router.
This option would allow you to enter your PS3 MAC address you will need to enter all the network computes MAC addresses too, each device (PS3 system or a computer) has one MAC address.

I hope this helps you or anyone else, Aviv.
