[PS3] How to control tactics ?

Hey guys, have been reading up on these forums for a while now, thought id join up as I just got the game a few days ago and getting used to it day by day !

What im wanting to know is, how to control the tactics, as there is 'manual' 'semi auto' and 'full auto' modes.....

By pressing L2 and 'square' 'rectangle' etc etc I can see that it activates the controls, does this mean I simply just hold down L2 without any buttons to activate what ive selected ?

If someone could please explain this in detail I would really appreciate it

On full manual, L2 plus relevant button will activate that specific tactic until another is selected or current tactic cancelled.

Semi-Auto will make it's own changes unless you override.

Full Auto will override as it see's fit.

There is an option in to have the tactics displayed (along with player fatigue, which is very useful) although I think they do as standard. Can't remember.

If unsure on the best tactics, use semi auto & adjust yourself if you want to push the game in a certain direction. Or use Auto & just plame the AI when it all goes the shape of the pear.

L2 and relevant button to active, then same again to deactivate. The tactic will stay in effect until you say otherwise. It may reset at half time, not too sure though as never been in that situation.

Best way I can describe effect is, building play to attack using the wing, just before starting the move, activate the tactic then make the play. I know that sounded like an American football terminology, but the principle isn't actually that different. Once the move finnished (ball gone dead/lost) either cancel the tactic or select another appropriate one.

That's the way I tend to use it anyway.

No. Once you activate an attacking tactic, it will stay in effect until you decide otherwise (L2 + relevevant button, or by selecting another tactic). You do not need to press anything further, they will just stay under the attck tactic influence.

So within the game, once I say press L2 and the triangle to activate the tactic, whatever the triangle tactic is, it will stay on that ? Which means that I don't have to press another button to have my players do that tactic ?

I was just a bit confused, I thought that once activated, I had to press L2 all the time to set the tactic....
