60 players in an online game, but separated in squads of about 5 I think. Not a 30v30 team deathmatch or whatever (at least I don't think that's possible). I'm not sure what the limit is for TDM. Maybe somebody with the game could enlighten me.
The 8 person co-op mode isn't meant to be particulary good.

i like it, just like the original its your basic standard shooter, and its not trying to be anything else.. reminds me of starship troopers, independence day the scale they have created with the invasion is brilliant, i found my self in awe a few times lol.
The graphics are brill....its fast paced and exciting...if anything im finding it a bit easy in hard, but im not near the end yet so lets see..checkpoints seem okay aswell, no real frustrating moments yet...
i wish it had the limb disection of dead space vo, that would be fun with the big chimera lol

How the fuck can you say that when R1 came out A WHOLE YEAR before cod4,
Resistance fall of man set the standards for fps games on the ps3 so anyone comparing it to cod4 is a piece of shit because for a release date game on a brand new console they had hardly anything to work with and they managed to make one of the best games ive ever played.

Partly agree with you, but just because Resistance "set the standards," it doesn't mean a game coming out after it can't be better.

R1 is a generic FPS that does nothing different from games that are on the PS2. The game isn't bad, but to say it set the standard for PS3 FPS is stupid.
It raised no bar, it just kept to the standard of already good FPS the PS2 has.
COD4 is one of those FPS that raise the bar on so many levels, whereas R1 is a standard shooter once you get rid of the gimmicky guns.
Oh and best game you've ever played...............:faceplm:

its not crap but its not the best either, just above good in my opinion.
still fun to play and thats the most important thing i suppose..
i personally think biohock raised the fps bar, over cod4. theres been 5 cods over the years, and they all havent been that disimilar tbh. Dont get me wrong im all for cod i especially love the ww2 settings over modern combat, as im interested/respectfull of the events that happened in ww2. games and films (saving p ryan) do really show the horror of these events, amd hopefully bring ppl to realise and respect.

Yeah Bioshock also came to my mind when I was typing up that rant.
I just love COD4 compared to 3, and I think online wise it raised the bar.

Not played it myself either, so no doubt we'll both get fucked over much quicker than we'd like!
Not heard anything bad about the online. The 60 player bit is a misnomer though, it's not 60 people at the same time, more 60 people working in groups, or so I am lead to believe. Either way should still be interesting.

Words can't express my disappointment in this game. You can't play the main game in co-op mode - instead they try and be clever and give us a really shit separate co-op game, which feels cheap and tagged on. Plus the split-screen has a shit black border that seems irremovable.
