Football Manager 2009 [PC/Mac]

**EDIT**

Answered my own question. :D

Enhancement Pack 5 (4.08) was the final patch released for CM4. I could only find up to Enhancement Pack 4 (4.07) on download.com which wasn't ideal 'cause all other sites containing CM4 patches came with out dated (hardly surprising) download links! But I eventually tracked down a live one.

Gamespot actually have it listed, but as I'm not a registered member I can't say whether their download link is still live, or not.

Let's see if this can feed the cravings and stop me from purchasing Football Manager 2009!

I've also been wondering, if FM 2009 isn't such a great offering, is anyone going to be giving Championship Manager 2009 a twirl?

I'm (have been) downloading some stuff so when I get my hands on FM2009 in 5 days time, I can get straight into playing it  So far I've got the 9.0.1, Graphics Superpack. Thanks very much Wan ;)

And now I'm getting this 9.2.0 update. Thanks Sweey ;) Wow, lots of fixes

Sweey

*RETIRED*
Lots of fixes and no explicit mention of the injury bug meaning I may still find this game entirely unplayable. Great work if that's the case

I gotta say that's a lot of fix. I didn't expect SI to release this much earlier. Though I won't be installing it as I'm happy with my game so far. So are you happy now Sweey?

Sweey

*RETIRED*
No. The injury problem persists and this is with a fresh installation of the game immediately patched to 9.2.

Hmm, perhaps it's still a thing SI are still working on. Could be sorted in the 9.3.0 patch? :ninja:

Sweey

It could very well be. Whether I'm willing to let their broken game waste any more of my time remains to be seen.

Haha, they brought out this 9.2 pretty early so they've got ages to sort this major issue out. I reckon they've brought out the 9.2 this early is to keep managers satisfied with all the 300+ tiny fixes until they upload the 9.3.0 patch which sorts out the biggest problem of them all..injuries.

I haven't tried FM2009 yet but I have high expectations for 2010. They (SI) best make a better game, back up to the standards of 2008.

Should they get rid of this 3D-Match Engine for 2010? That's the reason why the game's all cocked up?

I'll try it tomorrow. I haven't bothered to play in weeks due to the volume of crash dump errors and general freezing/crashing. My gameplay was perfectly fine though. :erm:

I'd expect that the 9.3.0 patch, will be released in February, because it will contain the transfer window update. The injury situation does need desperate attention, though.

The 3D match engine is an annoyance, and it's not that great, in my opinion.

I'll be sticking with good ol' CM4 for now then! Even though I failed to qualify from my Champions League group! I really need to come up with better tactics for away games. But what ultimately screwed me was defeat, at home, to Galatasary, where I forgot to change back to my home tactics! Damn it! I have to win the Uefa Cup to make up for that.

I'm not sure what formation I will go with in the long run. At the minute it's a modified 4-4-2.

-------- GK --------
DR -- DC -- DC -- DL
-------- DM --------
MR ----- MC ----- ML
---- SC --- SC -----

I'm not sure if I'll keep the DM or push him alongside the MC, again. Or if I'll change altogether and for for an attacking 3-5-2, or a 4-3-3. The 4-3-3 depends how well Ryan Giggs, and AM L/R in general would play in a 4-3-3. I could move Beckham inside alongside Keane, and Scholes, easily, so it's whether or not the wingers work to their full potential either side of the striker, as I've never tried it.

Can someone please help me, I don't know which folders to put all the graphics I've downloaded so they all work in FM2009. I've downloaded logo superpack, kits, facepacks.

Can someone tell me which folders I need to create and put all the graphics files into, so they show up when I play?

Much appreciated :)

At the start of my first season at Shakhtar Donetsk, I was handed a £40million transfer budget. I brought in Hernanes from Sao Paulo, Jimmy Briand from Rennes, Carlos Eduardo from Hoffenheim, Damian Gimenez from Chornomorets and Anatoliy Tymoschuck who I could only afford thanks to the sale of Darijo Srna to Chelsea.

In the Winter transfer window, Dmytro Koloda from Chornomorets, Andriy Rusol from Dnipro and Eugeny Aldonin from CSKA Moscow were added to the squad.

I ended up winning both the Ukrainian Super Cup and the Ukrainian Premier Division. I also secured a great victory at the San Siro, against AC Milan in the UEFA Cup 2-0.

Due to my low reputation, my whole squad wanted to leave at the start of the second season. I had a very busy summer;

Out: Maxym Telnov (Released), Vitaliy Goshkeydera (Released), Ivan Matyazh (Arsenal Kiev, Free), Olexandr Chyzhov (Lille, £1.5m), Olexiy Gai (Reading, £2.5m), Mariusz Lewandowski (Watford, £1m), Willian (Lille, £3.5m), Marcelo Moreno (FC Kobenhavn, £4.3m), Tomas Hubschman (Liverpool, £4.5m), Olexandr Kucher (FC Kobenhavn, £4.3m), Jadson (FC Porto, £4.5m), Nery Castillo (Mallorca, £3m), Leonardo (Braga, £1m), Igor Korotetskyi (Sparta Prague, 500k), Eugene Selezenyov (West Brom, £2m), Pedro Benetiz (Tigres, £1.3m)

Total Income: £34,000,000

In: Macauley Chrisantus (Hamburg, Free), Banel Nicolita (Steaua Bucharest, Free), Andrea Barzagli (Wolfsburg, £10m), Hatem Ben Arfa (Marseille, £12m), Vagner Love (CKSA Moscow, £10m), Bart Schenkeveld (Feyenoord, 725k), Antonio Valencia (Wigan, £7.5m), Vyacheslav Checher (Sparta Prague, £5.5m), Grygoriy Yarmash (Slavia Prague, £7m)

Total Spent: £53,000,000.

I was given a £32million budget for this season as well.

Again, I won the Ukrainian Super Cup and League, but this time I added the Cup to it as well. I also made good progress in the Champions League, I qualified for the Second Round, only to be knocked out by AC Milan 3-2 on aggregate, after a 0-0 draw at the San Siro.

But, again going into the third season, my squad were unhappy again and wanted to leave. However, I managed to keep my most influential players, such as; Hernanes, Dmytro Chygryinski and Anatoliy Tymoschuck.

I've just gone into the third season, I've bought two Spanish regens; Jose Ruiz from Almeria who cost £7m plus Banel Nicolita, and Juan Ruiz from Las Palmas on a free, and Bosingwa from Chelsea for £3million. I also have Alexandr Kerzhakov coming in on a free transfer, in December. This time around I'm hoping I can challenge in Europe as well, as I have a squad who I feel could cause an upset.
